Very nice. Solid doggie door. My german shepherd walks right through it. We upgraded from a medium door. When I installed the medium door we didnt have our shepherd. After getting our shepherd as a puppy he quickly out grew it. I have installed several doggie doors now with this one being the last. Follow the instructions , use a jig saw and metal snips. My experience with doggie doors they loosen over time so I put 1x2's in my metal door after removing a bit of foam like a frame. I also added some self tappers. It is much easier to put the doggie door in the first time when the door is solid. Making the hole larger is harder than cutting a hole in a door the first time. ... show more

If you have a large dog, don’t even waste your time on that junk from Petco or PetSmart. This is the same price, and you can see in my photo that I have the large-size model from the big box stores sitting inside the opening for this one. This is a much better door. It has three flaps instead of two, it’s made of metal, and it feels far more durable. This Product is absolutely the best in Doggy Doors especially for the XL Model I purchased for my three Fur Babies. My Male Zeus is my biggest and I was worried that it would not be big enough for him but it’s surprisingly large and better then I could have thought. A++ for sure. Easy installation took only 20 minutes to complete with all the necessary tools needed that is. I already have suggested this brand to my entire family which is 132 strong and growing.     • Poor Instructions - UPDATED

Installed the X-large yesterday. Instructions said to measure shoulder height of your dog then looking at the cut template it had a horizontal line for shoulder height. So I measured from the floor up on the door and put a mark at shoulder height, then placed the shoulder height line of the template on the mark and using a level I leveled the template out and taped it up. Drew a line all around the edge of the template, removed the template and once again checked for level. Then I cut a hole in my door. The instructions say to test fit the interior side of the doggy door (side with the flap). Little confusing because both sides have a flap. One has the outside cover flap and the insulating flap the other just has the cover flap. I guessed it meant the one with the insulating flap so that went inside. The hole I cut was about 1-1/2” larger all around than the door needed. I had to shim up the bottom with a 1” piece of scrap. So don’t trace around the included template, use the inside of the doggy door frame to draw your cut-out. After recovering from the excessive hole I cut I then drilled holes through the door using the pre-drilled holes in the doggy door frame. It’s imperative to drill these holes as straight as possible. After shoving the bolt thru if the bolt is at an angle you won’t get the other side on. Anyway, the kit comes with an assortment of mounting hardware. Drywall anchors and bolts, wood screws, cover caps… My door is 1-3/4” thick, not one of the included bolts was long enough to go thru the door. Picked up a handful of #8 nuts and bolts (3”) at Lowes and then after getting it all together I cut the excess off. I couldn’t use any of the included hardware. I’m giving it 3 stars for the confusing instructions and mostly having to drive up to Lowe's and back just to get 4 #8 X 3” screws and nuts. UPDATE: The seller must be reading these reviews and reached out to me apologizing for the confusion and offered to make things right. They even said they would be revamping the instructions to hopefully avoid such confusion in the future. I originally gave this product 3 stars because I believe it to be a decent product and looks and feels heavy duty. It was just the hassle I went thru to install it. But I'm upping my 3 star to a 4 star review because of the sellers consideration to future buyers and willingness to meet me halfway on the product. ... show more

My dogs are super excited that I installed this for them. Actually, so am I. Now they don’t need me to open the door all the time for them. It was relatively easy to install. It keeps the weather outside and doesn’t seem to let too much cold air in during winter. My Rottweiler mix is a 85 pound dog and he fits through easily. Missing parts so improvised. Been using for 4 months through winter and works good. Currently use for a 140+ pound dog and a 13 pound dog and they do great. I do like the triple layers of flap.
