Batteries in vehicles, lawn equipment etc that are not used often tend to have a shorter life than ones that are used on a daily basis. These battery tenders/chargers keep your seldom used batts fully charged by monitoring the charge status and trickle electricity into the battery. Todays automobiles have several computers in the electrical systems that constantly run and will drain your batteries' charge after time if the vehicle isn't driven often. Car dealers use these on the vehicles in the showroom to keep the batteries from going dead. The price of these chargers is lower than the big name brand but, they work the same.
