I’m not sure what the material actually is but it doesn’t feel like wood. It feels like composite or thinner plastic. If I had to do it over I’d have bought real wood. The metal is nice. I have 4 kids, so there are 5 of us that eat at this. I (female 30’s) built this by myself in about 30 minutes. I didn’t have much room width wise, so this skinny table is perfect for the area. The only issues is one of the leg bottoms, which you twist in, doesn’t thread all the way in, so I had to adjust all of them. I tried switching them up but the metal must have been off because none of them worked on this one spot. I’m 5’11 and sit at the “head” of the table without issues.
