  • Must Buy!
Size: 5 Port 10G Ports
It is inexpensive but performs well and does not get too hot even when running for long periods of time. Five 10Gbps ports in a compact size is great.

  • Tried and tue, these are a great value
Size: 4 Port 2.5G + 2 10G
I've been using TRENDnet products for years and have never had any of their products fail. So, I took a look at upgrading my home network to 2.5Gb Ethernet. For the price, I thought I was getting a 2x10Gb and 4x2.5Gb switch. I was wrong, its 6x10Gb! I have 2.5Gb Fiber internet. My TP-Link router only has one (1) 2.5Gb port so unless I was flooding my network with large file transfers across the internet, 1.5gb upstream and downstream was wasted. Enter this switch. Well, two of them. I built a PFSense managed firewall due to constant attempted network attacks. I built a machine with two (2) 2.5Gb ethernet cards. My Fiber Optical Network Terminal (ONT) connects to the PFSense Firewall, then from there it connects to one (1) of these switches. I have a Synology Rackstation, and a wireless accesspoint for my cameras connected in the basement with a link upstairs to my office where it's connected to the second switch. I have my TP Link router connected, a Mac Studio M2 Max, an Xbox Series X and a gaming PC plugged into the switch, and the rest of the traffic is through a double NAT via the TP Link wireless gaming router. Performance-wise, all devices connected directly to these switched get a full 2.5Gb connection. Even testing multiple devices at the same time nets nearly the same speed. Now I have no wasted bandwidth and room to grow up to 10Gb/s. These are a must have, especially for local network transfers. I can transfer a 40GB file from one machine to another in less that a couple minutes at 2.5Gb/s - I can't wait to get 10Gb devices to utilize that speed. These are silent, stay cool, and the power draw is light. I highly recommend these switches. ... show more

  • TRENDnet 6-Port Unmanaged Multi-Gig Switch, 4 x 2.5GBASE-T Ports, 2 x 10G SFP+ Ports Fanless
Size: 4 Port  2.5G + 2 Port SFP+
The TEG-S562 is a compact (<6.4" wide), fanless, and lightweight switch that only uses a few watts and runs cool. It is good for a 10G passthrough to connect with several 2.5GbE devices, for example a 10GbE SFP+ NAS with X520-DA2 and 10GbE SFP+ desktop computer (via twinax), and also two 2.5GbE computers. I have not tried it with fiber or RJ45 SFP+ modules. ... show more

  • Stops working/drops traffic regularly - I'm on my 2nd unit behaving the same.
Size: 4 Port 2.5G + 2 10G
This product is so frustrating, I'm compelled to write a review. My home router is an AT&T BGW320 with 5Gbps fiber service. I connect the 5Gbps LAN port to a TRENDnet TEG-S750, and that one works fine. Off of one of those TEG-S750 10G ports, I connect this TEG-S762 in a different part of the house. I connect to a variety of PCs, including a Mac Studio (10Gbps LAN port). This TEG-S762 would intermittently stop passing traffic for 1-2 minutes at a time, eventually working after a period. I sent it back under warranty to TRENDnet. They sent me a refurb replacement, with same HW version v1.0R. After a couple of months, the replacement also has the same pattern of stopping traffic for a couple of minutes at a time. This happens on multiple computers connected to the switch, while all other traffic in the rest my house goes just fine. If I remove power and reconnect, it seems to behave better for a few days. But the inconsistency is very frustrating and there should be a better solution than rebooting. I've considered replacing it with (an additional) TEG-S750, but those are much more expensive than the S762, and I really like having 6 ports. TRENDnet, please help if you can! ... show more

  • So many gigabits...
Size: 8 Port 10G + 4 Port SFP+ Web Smart
I had a NAS die on me, and things started spinning out of control. The old NAS only had two 100 megabit ports. So I got a Synology DS923+ and saw that I was saturating the gigabit connection. That led to getting the 10 gigabit card, and I found that I was saturating the connection on my 2.5 gigabit switch. And then Prime Day happened, and I bought a DS1122+ with another 10 gigabit card. And if you're going to have two NAS devices capable of 10 gigabits -- you need a 10 gigabit switch, right? Realizing I was going way, way past overkill for home use, I decided if I was going 10 gigabit, I was going as inexpensive as practical. Since I'm adding to an existing network with different vendors and VLANs, having something semi-managed was essential, and fully-managed would be even nicer. Now -- there is a much less expensive managed 10 gig switch that's all SFP+ which I had considered, but I just didn't feel good about the no-name company that made it. Not that TRENDNet is top-tier, but they've been around long enough that I can count on them releasing firmware updates from time to time, and reasonably trust that there's nothing nefarious baked into the hardware. When this initially arrived, I was a little puzzled that it wasn't pulling a DHCP address. I had to go into the documentation to discover that this comes from the factory set to 192.168.10.200 and apparently, you're not changing it without a console connection or a device on that network. That's about 75% of the reason I docked a star. I guess you can make some argument for airgap security on a switch being a good thing, but I just don't see a use case for this grade of switch where that's necessary enough to outweigh the convenience of fast setup. Anyway. The GUI isn't awful All the functions you'd reasonably expect to need are there and easy -- maybe too easy -- to use. I kind of with things like ACLs could be set on a single page per port, and that doing things like setting up LACP could be done as "these three ports" instead of having to turn it on port-by-port, but I'm picking nits here. What is a bit annoying is that some of the pages show ports that the switch doesn't have, while other pages have you selecting ports off of a sketch of the switch. Consistency is not a priority to their UX team. That said, the GUI is extremely fast as switches go, and not every config change requires a reboot. The only other odd thing that stood out to me was when I used an SFP+ module to connect to my Cisco gigabit switch, the Cisco switch looked like the interface was flapping, and the TRENDNet switch didn't show a module installed at all. Forcing the port to gigabit resolved the problem, but I was a little surprised that it didn't auto set to max capability. (Though in fairness, the module is pretty cheap and may not report it.) All things being equal, I'd buy this again. The config annoyances are minor, and the speed is divine. ... show more

  • Perfect
Size: 5 Port 10G Ports
Slightly bigger than I thought. Works perfectly right out of the box. I’m using cat 7e cable from Amazon basics. UPDATE: not sure whats going on, but no matter the settings, I can only seem to do ~400MBs (including with iperf). no idea if its switch related. i have intel x540-t2 NICs on both ends and my nas disk is NVME (fio reports 4100MBs read/write on the NAS itself) UPDATE: i bought some more expensive cat8 cables and there's no change. still capped at ~400MBs/3.2Gbps. ... show more
