Without the stretchy black sock, this is a pretty standard ankle wrap (although in a much prettier color than usual). The sock isn't super stretchy, so if it doesn't exactly fit the shape of your foot and ankle, it will either be loose or tight. I liked this sleeve and wrap set quite a bit when I first put it on. The combo was sturdier than the wrap I had been using for an injured ankle that has not healed since spraining it 7 weeks ago (the doc took x-rays and saw no break). I'm a runner who hasn't been able to run for nearly 2 months, and I'm getting antsy waiting. The combination of support and compression felt good when walking around. However, after 12+ hours of use, the wrap began to dig into the sole of my feet and the back of my ankle. This discomfort lasted for a good 12 hours after I stopped wearing it. This discomfort may have just happened because my feet are big (men's 12), but both my feet and ankles are skinny and bony, and other one-size-fits-all ankle braces and calf compression sleeves fit me just fine. I will continue to use this, but I think that I'll only wear it for brief periods in which I'll be walking a lot. I also plan to wear it for my 50-min runs once my ankle is sufficiently healed up. ... show more

This ankle wrap has a long enough blue strap that you can use it to help "lift" your nonexistent arch and also stabilize your ankle. The black wrap itself is like a compression sleeve and its breathable. If you are going to use it as intended to reinforce your ankle, this will do a great job! My left ankle and foot swell terribly by the end of the day. This brace really helps prevent it from swelling so much. The compression is just right - very comfortable and you can adjust the elastic band to suit you for swelling or arch support. This brace is different than any others I’ve tried before, and I really like it. The stretchy sleeve fits over my foot and ankle nicely, and I like that I can position the elastic band exactly where I need it for support. I’ve had no problems at all like skin irritation, and I’m very pleased.

I got this because of a weakness in my ankle after an injury several months ago to provide support when it was aching. It helped quite a lot with those days when my ankle was hurting to provide added support. I liked that it is adjustable and that I could choose how to wrap it in ways that best supported my particular problem. If my feet are swollen a bit, the part that loops over my foot feels tight. It is breathable, but wearing it over a sock means my feet still sweat using this. It is a bit thick though so it was tricky wearing this with shoes, but it depends on how it is wrapped. ... show more
