    • Great for Group Cooking
This cook kit is fantastic for people who are camping in small groups. It's a little on the heavy side - the stove itself is made out of brass and quite solid, and the pots and pans are pretty sizable but it's meant to meet the needs of four or five people. You can really cook with this kit too - frying, searing, simmering and all that. If all you are looking to do is boil water or you are camping with smaller groups then I would look at the (smaller and lighter) Trangia 27 series or the Trangia 28, which is designed for one person. One of the chief selling points for me was the fact that fuel is cheap and readily available, pretty much any gas station or hardware store is going to have methylated spirits on hand. The stove doesn't produce spent gas canisters which have to be packed out. The cook time is a little on the slow side - a liter of cold water takes around 9 or 10 minutes to get to a full rolling boil. In all, this kit is really great for the kind of camping I usually do. If I were to go out for a couple of weeks at a time, packing my own food and alone or with just one other person, I would consider either one of the smaller Trangia kits or a different cooking system all together.     • Just go this. It's too big for my solo hiking needs but great for group camping.
Just bought this last week and got it delivered so fast, and i live in australia. Postage was cheap $17 (with a Trangia bottle) and this was an awesome awesome deal. I bought this after realising that it is actually made for group cooking of 4-5 people, however my needs are just for me, so its a bit big..... still though it pretty small and compact (it not that its that large its just that its bigger then I'll be using) I have not tested it, however it looks really good and it is definitely the real deal, and it definitely was a deal :D If your going to be doing some group cooking or want a large cook set this is the what you want. Note: i bought this for hiking and I might just use it for camping with my family and get the mini trangia or trangia 27 ... show more

My only negative with this set...I was baking and the metal gets super warm. The coating on the fry pan cooked right off. So, the extra money for the coated was useless. Dont bake with it haha

Great, reliable, and versitile cooking kit, it gets the job done even with rain and wind. A two dollar bottle of HEET will last a weekend for one person. My only complaint is that one of the slots that the wrapping strap fits into got dinged on a recent trip and made it a little difficult to fit. Otherwise, if you are looking for a dependable alcohol stove and want to get away from the homemade soda can stoves, this is the perfect upgrade. ... show more

    • Trangia 25-4 camp stove
I was never able to determine which stove kit to buy the 25 or 27 series. I only know that the 25 series is the larger of the two sets. With that in mind the carton the 25 kit came in measures 8x8x5 inches. I got every accessory you can get for it and it all fits neatly in the orange stuff sack.

Took this on a overnight camping trip where I had to cook for four. Temperatures got down to the high 20's that night. It's a great little stove and performed well boiling water for dinner and breakfast. Easy cleanup and will be used every trip from now on.
