The XL950 has been discontinued...Replaced by XL 1050 designed to work in concert with Nexia smart home system to provide the convenience and advantages of a smart home. Voice Control: Control your XL 1050, lights and small appliances by voice commands with Amazon Echo. Simplified Scheduling: Log on to your account within the Nexia portal. Simply set up your thermostat scheduling to your desired preference. Automations: By connecting additional devices to the XL 1050’s built in bridge, you will unleash the full capabilities of Nexia smart home systems with automations. NOTE: Use 18-gauge color-coded thermostat cable for proper wiring. All unused thermostat wire to be grounded at indoor unit chassis ground only. Shielded cable may be required if system interference is experienced. Ground only one end of the shield to the system chassis. Do not run wires in the same bundle with HVAC wires. ALWAYS KEEP AWAY from high voltage wiring to avoid interference.

    • They charged 20% for refund
It didn’t work with my system at all. I returned it in next day and paid 14 usd for shipping back. In the end, they charged 128 usd for restoring fee, around 20% of product price. Unbelievably, I want my full refund back.

    • Vary good unit. If installed correctly!!
Well I want to reply to all the post about having issues and needing new ones, if installed and registered by a true professional it has a 10year factory warranty, and if you want a true averaged out temp in a house need to use the Trane remote temperature sensors, and all houses regardless of how new have hot and cold spots, and no trane system requires these thermostat, they are just a preference from a trane dealer. And work realy well if the house and system are set up right. Mine works great with my variable speed communicating system. And all radiant heat or forced air systems have a temp swing in both heating or cooling and is affected by proper air flow around the thermostat. Place it in a location with out access to air flow and it will not regulate well. Place it in direct sun light or near a heat source it will not work right. But if it's installed by someone who know what they are doing and take the time to make all the adjustments to not only the thermostat but also the system, it will work wonderfully. And yes they haven't made much upgrades to these in that last few years, but why mess with a vary reliable unit. ... show more

    • Literally a mini computer
So after remodeling our house and installing two brand new ac units we found out we needed these thermostats. They are virtually mini computers that yes they turn the ac on but they also show you the weather and the forecast. To be honest I even asked my husband if I could get on Facebook with it, of course he said no. It was easy for my husband to install and it was easy to set up in the Nexia app. I control all aspects of both units right from my cell phone. I know they are pricey but in the long run it was well worth it!! ... show more

    • Piece of trash, breaks after 6-12 months (on my 3rd)
These things are engineered incredibly badly. I've had three of them professionally installed and they still keep conking out, and with a mobile app that feels like it's from the Bush administration. Expect to have a $600 bill every 6-12 months and a few days in between of no access to your HVAC system. ... show more

    • Made my HVAC smarter
I have an older model Trane xv90 gas furanace (2 stage) and 2 stage ourdoor A/C unit. This connects to the needed relay panel as my indoor and outdoor units use the standard W , G and Y wires for heat, fan speed, and cooling. Installed easily with existing wiring. Much easier to program than the old system I had, plus it allows remote monitoring and control, and a much easier to read display. ... show more

    • This Thermostat Last About A Year.
This is my 3rd Thermostat due to failures after a year. They also need to make the screen OLED. This will decrease the heat generated by the screen components.
