The “claps” on the winch hook is poorly made. But the wench strap and the wench itself is made very well and works very well. This is the only reason I couldn’t give it five stars. Yes I would purchase this one again if I needed another one.

    • Work great, handle a little close to housing
A little hard to install the front bolt. Did not come with mounting bolts. The only thing I disliked about the unit was the crank arm set to close to the housing and hit the angle support. Had to do a little modification. Now that it is installed, works great, just an extra trip to the hardware store and some modifications to the trailer, but such is life. This was a replacement to a 20 year old winch and I wish I’d replaced it ten years ago! This winch has the dual cams and is super smooth. Loading the boat takes very little effort compared to the old winch. Used it several times and very satisfied.

    • Adequate for rolling loads on flatbed trailers
Appears ideal for loading cumbersome rolling loads (lawn tractor, log splitter, 4-wheeler & etc.) onto an 18' utility trailer. I'm getting to old to wrestle equipment of that size onto a trailer for transport, and hopefully this hand-winch will get the job done. I'll have it fabricated into a removable mount so installation (for my application) may be somewhat expensive, it's a reasonable value and these hand-winch's is simple to use. If grease is applied to the gears and it's stored inside when possible, this thing will last for decades of use. ... show more
