There’s 1 downside to WiFi cameras. Your internet speed has to include enough upload gbps per camera for optimal results. Example 10 gbps is enough for 3-4 cameras unless you’re uploading something at the same time. Yes you can run 8-10 cameras but you’ll see delays, buffering and be disappointed in speeds. Proper upload speeds is vital so you can run your cameras and other uploading data (basically sending, example : to cloud, to another devices to private storage). If you use cameras for live viewing and no saving video upload speeds aren’t important. That said, these Tapo ptz cameras work good, they move properly, app is intuitive, storage is cheap $10 for 10 cameras for 30 days, they’re a TP-Link products so it’s amazing like everything they make. I see TP-link to electronics as I do 3m to adhesives. Simply works. These cameras are 2k so zooming is ok but they don’t actually zoom it’s an in picture zoom. The cord is 2 piece so you can put attached side through a wall and connect adapter side in a plug inside but not have to make a huge hole. 3/8” hole is all you need. Entire unit is compact and has 4 holes in mounting plate to easily with a template to mark for plastic anchors or pre-drill hard surfaces. TP-link start up is by far the easiest I’ve seen and I’m a fan. 1 caveat I have is, when volume is on there’s no was to avoid hearing the motor turn the camera. These are NOT for high security areas or places subject to damage, mounting plate and body are plastic but you should know that when purchasing anyway. I would not hesitate at all to buy TP-link cameras or recommend to them to my own family and friends. ... show more

Tapo nailed it with this outdoor camera. Too many good things to mention about the technology and functions. Sharp 2k clarity in real time and playback video. I'm using a SD card for playback. Offers a free 30 day cloud storage. So impressed about this camera I ended up purchasing 3. Motion tracking is impressive how well it follows any motion within range. Do check out videos on YouTube for detailed information about this camera. Home or away, you would be able to always see whats happening with instant notification or download the recording footage in instant time. I had to upgrade my Wi-Fi for this to connect. The Wi-Fi reception on the camera is terrible. My phone, and I have a tiny cellphone, can get way more Wi-Fi signal than this camera ever will. There's really no excuse for how bad the Wi-Fi reception is on these; you've got all that room to put a good antenna. But, other than that, they're great. ... show more

This was my 3rd set of security cams I bought. The 1st ones would not connect to my wifi, i got 1 set up on the second batch and the others would not even power up. I bought 3 of these and 1 of their indoor cams. All 4 were super easy to set up and all 4 work perfectly. I'm 72 years old and i got these completely set up to my phone in 2 minutes a piece. Just plug it in, wait for the app to find it, put in your wifi password & put sd card in and go mount it. The picture quality is crystal clear day and night. These are the ones to buy hands down. This camera works great. The Tapo app allows me to use my existing Kasa doorbell cameras also. I have one place to control all my cameras. I have my camera set to 24-7 recording at 2K resolution, and get around ten days of recording history with a 256gb SD card.

We had a storm come through and 2 of my 4 cameras stopped working. On the app on phone, it displayed troubleshoot. I was worried the storm destroyed the cameras so I bought 2 more to replace. I unplugged 1 just like the guide told me and 5 minutes later. It works again. The other camera was disconnected from the storm. I kept the 2 new cameras because the cameras are excellent. Records 24/7 and motion tracking is cool. You can go back 24hrs and keep the recordings. Buy the memory chips recommended. Thank you Amazon & Tapo. ... show more

I'd like to say that the camera is perfect, and it might be, but I could not get it to talk to my wifi... It wasn't until I read the negative reviews that I learned that it will NOT work under a WPA2 security network. This really should have been noted on their website. This is not my first tp-link product either. I have a light switch controlling 8 soffit lights and two cameras all happily set up with my network, a WPA2 network, with no issues, that's what prompted me to purchase this unit. Ironically, my wifi is also a TP-LINK unit. I will keep searching for a security camera that WILL work under a WPA2 scenario. This one, unfortunately, is going back. ... show more
