  • Tether app did not work for setup
I purchased this to use at my church to substitute for the internal wifi for a media player that had failed. I decided to test it at home before taking it to the church. I attempted to set it up using the Tether app on my phone as was recommended. Tether was able to find the device but was never able to complete the setup, even when the device and my phone were within 5 feet of my wireless router. I decided to try WPS and that worked - but I knew that the church system was using a separate controller with multiple WAPS and did not support WPS. I finally tried connecting the RE205 directly to my network through the RJ45 and was able to open the web server on the RE205 and complete setup. Thankfully that same approach worked at the church and I was able to set it up on that network. All is well, but it was definitely not "Easy to install". ... show more

  • Been Working For Awhile Now
Super easy setup. Nice website setup config. Plugged in directly to my PC via ethernet cable and getting 120mbs download speed which is my IPS speed. Works great for an access point to extend your wifi. I have my router in the corner of my house, this access point in the middle of my house, and I still get wifi in my driveway. ... show more

  • WIFI not stable
I have had this product for a couple of months. The 5G-extended signal doesn't stay connected. The 2.4G-extended signal is unstable. Wouldn't be worth the money if it was free.

  • Only 20% of my source speed
Turned off the 2.4Ghz radio. Getting only about 20% of my source 5Ghz speed. Eg: when connected directly to source: 100 meg down and up. When connected to TP Link device (which had line of sight connection to source) got only 22 meg down and up. Consistently.
