    • Change Security Settings!
TP-Link router ships with default insecure settings! Disable WPS pin and WPS itself! 8 digit code can easily be cracked. Change default wifi pin! Can be cracked under 2 minutes! Got to say, I was surprised to see there at least wasnt default username and password, but rather forces a new password at time of setup which is good! I put mine behind a MikroTik Hex S (ethernet-only!) ethernet router, and the TP-Link router works like a charm! I have mine behind the ethernet router due to TP-Link routers being able to be hacked from the WAN (internet outaide local network) as well as from within (local network) especially if able to access the control admin panel page. Network isolation helps. Doesnt have 5G wi-fi band. I did buy this router because its vulnerable by default settings, so i have it set up as a aort of honeypot. ... show more

    • Plug and play
I had a weak signal in my garage/mancave. With this router i was able to plug in an ethernet extension cable and have instant wireless signal throughout for multiple devices like Roku, Alexa and several computers. Nothin fancy, does the job.

Didn't need Tech Support and not sure what User Interface is (technological dinosaur here!). My old router stopped working (at least I thought it did, turns out the problem is with the cable modem) so I ordered one just like it since the old one had worked well for so many years.
