Works great to move around my little canned ham trailer from the 1950's. My trailer is about 15 long overall, including the tongue. It weighs about 1,800 lbs. The dolly came double-boxed and assembled easily. The parts are all very high quality. The box had a USA address, so possibly the dolly is USA made?? The photo on Amazon when I purchased was not accurate, as it did not show the third wheel (the smaller caster). The description and reviews did mention the third wheel. The box says the wheels are: two 16 inch wheels and one 10 inch, and although I did not measure them, that sounds correct. I expected the dolly would work fine on pavement, but was especially glad to find that I was able to move the trailer around fairly easily on the dirt in my back yard. The dolly's wheels are large enough to roll easily and not sink in. The dirt was dry and firm, but was far from hard-pack. The third wheel, the caster wheel, is a godsend. After using the dolly today, I would not recommend buying a dolly without the three wheels. The third wheel let's you balance the trailer on three wheels where it is stable. Otherwise, you have to put down the trailer every time you let go of the dolly. With the 3rd wheel, on level ground, you can let go of the dolly to check the position of your trailer when it is balanced on the three wheels. Do make sure to have wheel chocks handy to park the trailer, especially, if you are on uneven, or sloped ground. Have an assistance ready to set the wheel chocks, so you don't have to let go of an unstable trailer (without chocked wheels, the trailer can roll away, if you let go and the ground is sloped or uneven). My only issue is the dolly sets the ball a little high, even on the lowest setting. My trailer needs a tongue height of about 15 inches, when level, and this dolly adjusts the ball from 21 inches to 33 inches according to the label on the box (i posted a photo of the box). That's pretty high for a small trailer. As a matter of fact, when you adjust the ball to the lowest setting the bottom of the square steel tube for the ball is so low it drags on the ground - so the lowest setting is not really attainable. I'm cutting off a couple of inches from the bottom of that tube.

I waited quite a while to write this review. I wanted to be sure that I was not going to post an inaccurate first impression. I have a 16' tandem axle trailer that weighs about 1800 pounds. I have to navigate it into a very tight parking place in my rear yard. This involves an angled approach to get through a gate that only offers an opening one foot wider than the widest portion of the trailer. I am in good shape (age 52) but am not a muscle beach poster boy. This darn thing works! It takes a little practice to get used to how to best navigate with it, but it is not hard at all. I am able to move my trailer out and into the very tight space by myself. Is it easy... no, I won't say that... but it is completely doable and reasonable to accomplish. I am very satisfied with this purchase. Does exactly what it says it will. The dolly is durable and heavy duty. If you are reading this review you have the same problem I did when I purchased this... A little too much trailer to easily move by yourself. You are thinking, what the heck am I going to do? I honestly thought I would have to sell the darn trailer. This dolly is the answer. I was as skeptical as you probably are when I bought. There were some basic reviews that were not really helpful. I hope this one is. If you need to move a trailer, especially tandem, by yourself and it requires any turning or navigating of a tight space, this is what you are looking for... would not waste my time writing this if it were not true. So many garbage products out there that when we get a good one, we owe it to the company to give them a good review. And if we treat each other as we should... we should try to help our fellow man spend his money wisely. Good luck. I think you will like this dolly.

This is probably more dolly than I need for my 750lb dog trailer -- but ever since I installed an auxiliary battery on the tongue, picking up the trailer and pushing and shoving it by hand was just too much, especially since I have a small incline on my driveway. I was interested in a three-wheel to give me more stability when pushing and pulling the trailer up and down my driveway and in and out of the garage. My observations are pretty straightforward: 1) It does the job as billed. As others have said the handle feels a little loose in the hands, but everything else fits together well. The big tires and the third wheel make it very easy to move my trailer around in tight areas. 2) The big tires do great on grass and snow, but the unexpected downside of the third-wheel is that it is the one that tends to get bogged down in softer surfaces 3) As others have noted, the ball is pretty high --- and so, if you drop the ball to its lowest height you then compromise how much ground clearance you have between the axles. Most of the time this will be fine, but if you are dealing with snow or even some high uneven paved surfaces, you may find yourself getting jammed. With a slightly lighter trailer, I chose to raise the ball and angle the dolly and lever the trailer up on to it to get it initially mounted. I'm very pleased. After two years of doing this manually, this dolly proved its worth in the first 10minutes.

I use this dolly to push my 20ft boat with outboard motor into the garage after every fishing trip. It works well, and is well made. But, if you aren't careful and you push up on the handle, the weight of the boat on the ball will flip you forward over the dolly and onto the tongue of the boat. I weigh 275 pounds and am 6'1". It threw me like I was a rag doll. I was bruised and shocked, but nothing was broken. I am trying to figure out a design improvement to reduce that tendency to flip forward while you are pushing on the handle. I also learned from that experience, not to raise the tongue jack wheel very far when using the dolly. On that occasion I had raised the tongue jack and flipped it back to clear the ledge of concrete at the entrance to my garage. When the dolly flipped forward, the tongue of the trailer fell to the concrete. I had a devil of a time finding a way to raise it enough to swing the tongue jack back down so I could raise the tongue of the boat. I had to use a hydraulic jack further back on the boat trailer beams. Be very careful when pushing this dolly, and always push down on the handle, do not push up as you push harder to move the boat. And, never raise the tongue jack all the way before using this dolly. You will need it should the dolly flip forward and drop the boat trailer tongue to the ground.

After reading the many reviews from 5 start to 1 star, and I can say everyone is right. It is great under good conditions and when you don't do anything wrong, and it has a likelihood to fail at other times. Design is OK but there could be many improvements. My biggest issue was due to the bracket that holds the swivel wheel is not a heavy enough gauge. On first use, just as I started moving, I neglected to manually point the swivel wheel in the direction of movement, thinking it would naturally straighten once it began to move. Instead the bracket bent and the tire came off the rim. Yes, ok, I had left it at an angle greater than 45degree off axis, so that was dumb, and I took it as my mistake, (lol: and my girlfriend of course had pointed it out before I started to move it but i did not heed her.) And I had noticed when assembling the bracket was weak compared to the rest of it. With effort from friends we got the tire back on the rim, and hammered the bracket back straight. I got this to move a 20" travel trailer from the driveway to a spot in the rear yard, over grass. Trailer weighs about 3200lb and the tongue weight is about 400lb, It did the job with a bunch of us pulling and pushing (slightly uphill). True what is written about the minimum ball height is too high (but just ok for us), and that you can cut the bottom of the pipe to make it a bit lower True about the handle bar fitting loosely into the main bar, but does not really affect things but the play makes it feel less solid. The way the main wheels attach seems flimsy, with just a big washer and a small cotter pin, but after thinking about it I guess it is ok - can't imagine it coming off. I don't know if the play on the axle this method of attachment leaves is good thing or not. But,... This unit has the highest weight rating I found, the main wheels are big, solid and wide enough, the frame is solid, and for under $200 delivered, I consider it a very good value. Just be mindful of the swivel wheel bracket. And remember this is for Pulling; Be very careful if Pushing (backing up) and be sure to keep weight pressing down on the handle to keep the swivel wheel on the ground or the whole thing will tip over (yes, I learned the hard way, lol)

Now, I was skeptical about the mixed reviews but I gave it a shot and it was brilliant. I use it to tow my 800lb trailer into my garage (fully loaded its about 1100lbs and it still works with ease. I used to have to back it in and the driveway was so tight it would take 15 minutes just to get it straight. I found this and it makes life so much easier, assembly took about 5 minutes and all I needed were some spanners to tighten the bolts. This is a life changer, i can get my 5x8 trailer into my two car garage in 2 minutes. the dolly is not very bulky and fits behind my trailer in the garage. If you are older however i would save your back and get a electric one, however for younger people it is really easy (and my garage has a significant incline) i highly reccomend to save frustration and time.
