  • Appearance: The Sideline electric fireplace is designed for recessed in-wall mounting. Creating a cozy atmosphere of a traditional fireplace, this electronic fireplace has realistic flames with a real fire look. The Sidelines 5 flame settings radiate a soft ember glow up to an intense blaze. Sideline gives you the total package. Control the heat and flame with the remote control. Designed to use one log or crystal, if you prefer you can mix both safely.
  • Installation: This Sideline installs simply and can safely be attached to framing studs. The sides & back of the unit remain cool to the touch with the heat feature on. Recommended minimum of 8 of space between the top of the fireplace and your TV, mantel, picture ceiling. The Sideline can be installed in existing fireplace openings safely. Consult with a licensed professional to ensure your unused gas lines and vents are secured properly. The Sideline fireplace is ventless.
  • Operation: The Sidelines heater will take the edge off a cool room or basement, and it can be run with no heat (just flames) in warmer climates. The Sideline comes with a 6-foot power cord for a 110-120V outlet. It is also hard-wire ready for in-wall install. The unit draws a max of 12 amps, so the fireplace can be used on a 15-amp circuit. A 20-amp circuit may be necessary, depending on the use of other electronics on that same electric circuit.
  • Features: The Sideline features an unmatched flame. Friends will be nervous to touch realistic flame behind the glass. The Sideline includes faux-fire logs & crystals to create an authentic feel, as well as an IR remote controlling flame color & intensity, the heater and shut-off timer. Front facing heater vents allow you to position the Sideline just 8 under a flat screen TV. The Sideline can be hardwired or plugged in to your electric source.
  • What You Need to Know: 1. We recommend 8 inches of space between your fireplace & TV. 2. The Sideline pulls a max of 12 amps. 3. The fireplace includes a wall-mount bracket, if you dont recess it. 4. You can install the Sideline in an existing fireplace opening. It stays cool to the touch on the sides & back and is ventless. You can use the Sideline with just the flame and no heat. 5. The heater will help to warm up a cool room but wont replace a primary heat source.

This is a high quality product. It arrived very quickly. It was well packaged. It was easy to install. My favorite quality is the realistic flames. I have received many compliments on this fireplace. The heat has two settings and there is a light so you can tell which level you have selected. This product is worth the extra dollars. I highly recommend you purchase from this company. I studied many reviews before selecting this company. I watched several videos regarding the product. I know I made the right choice. I am very satisfied with the amount of heat it provides. Size: 100 Inches
Research: I went to a local store that had a number of different fireplaces on display. I ended up ordering the touchstone as it seemed to best balance cost + asthetics. This indeed turned out to the case. The Sideline flames look better than any of the other brands I checked out. I was also very pleased that they had a 100" available and the price is very good relative to the competition, coming in at several hundred less. Buying via Prime gave me extra piece of mind and I took out the extra warranty. Delivery: the unit was snugly strapped to a linear pallet, which preserved it from any damage and made moving it around much easier. It was sent via UPS freight and they did a good job. Installation: this is a cumbersome unit that will bode well with two people. Or if you're like me and impatient/impetuous, I managed on my own, but I was VERY careful. One wrong move and that glass facade goes bye-bye, or you drop and ding/damage the metal housing. Installation was actually a piece of cake once I carved out the opening in the drywall. My one issue: so, as they suggested you do, and I'm glad I did BEFORE installation, I plugged the unit in to test it. At first I thought it was simulated embers crackling, but then I realized my unit is making a horrible grinding noise. I was able to peer inside and see that the "flame rod" was not attached on one end of the unit and was just kind of spinning out of its socket and scraping the metal housing. I thought it was bent, but after TouchStone customer service replied (very quickly), they gave me a supplemental guide on how to open the unit and fix the flame rod. A bit of a pain in the butt removing like 50 screws from the back of the unit, enough that was the issue. Fortunately, it was not bent, it just needed to be mounted back within the bracket/bushing. what I did note is there was no way this could have happened during shipping, nor could that have just popped out of that bracket. It was readily apparent that this was a quality control issue at the factory. So I let them know, and hey, I guess crap happens. Fortunately, it was an easy fix so I didn't have to sending unit back or have a repair person come out. I do admit it also gave me an opportunity to really study the guts of the unit and understand how it works... I think this knowledge will bode well for maintaining the unit over the years. I noted other people's reviews mention grinding noises and they may not have realized they had the same issue going on with a dislodged flame rod. When it's installed and working properly, it is virtually silent (without heat on). Final installation: so once I got through the adventure above and got it installed... It looks absolutely fantastic. What I love... I think the flames are extremely realistic looking. They give you the option of putting down little bit of fake crystals, or I'm using the fake wood which actually looks really cool. I also like that there are multiple dimming options, and one of the most important reasons I chose this unit, I love the blue-only flames. So if I just wanted in regular "fireplace" mode, I just put on the orange flames. But when watching a movie it's really cool to put it on the dim blue flames only; not too obtrusive, and a really cool look. I live in Florida, so honestly, other than maybe a few weeks out of the year at best, I won't really be using the heat. Thus sorry I can't comment on that aspect yet. Nicely built electric fireplace. Installation was simple and rough in dimensions correct. Would highly recommend to purchase. Hunted around and read a lot of reviews and finally found this one. Flames are realistic and nice to look at.

Who needs a fireplace on Maui? I do when it storms!!!! It’s beautiful to have this in my living room. Pretty easy to install hired a contractor to build the fireplace surround and I’m so happy with the way that it looks. It’s so beautiful I bought another one for the bedroom. Looks great! Clean lines and the flame looks really good for an electric fireplace insert. It’s a decent heat source. Exactly as described. Shipped quick and was packed well. Definitely recommend the fireplace insert and the seller as well.

I really like this insert! Bought a house with no fireplace last year after living in condo with gas fireplace and house with wood burning fireplace previous to that. I always knew we would put a fireplace up, but I had been leaning towards gas again and then started reading reviews on these electric ones. I chose this one because I felt the reviews reported most realistic flame and I would have to agree! It maybe isn’t 100% realistic looking, but close and definitely looks and feels cozy. We built the fireplace frame over a few weekends and bought the mantle through Amazon as well. I love it and couldn’t be happier with the way this turned out. We rarely use the heat as it’s not been needed in my house and that probably makes me appreciate this purchase even more since the gas fireplace would be putting out more heat than needed. Can use with just the flames without heat, which means we can turn on and use for the cozy ambiance without overheating. Definitely recommend so far! ... show more
