The "underside" of the blanket isn't faux fur but it is a soft, comfortable fabric. I actually prefer it this way so the fur side of the blanket doesn't get matted and dirty as easy. It’s 100% polyester which if you didn’t know was plastic. It’s super soft keeps you warm by the thickness and the weight is definitely there. LOTS of shedding but it’s fluff so it’s what is expected. The photo is it on my queen bed
