  • Definitely larger than average; view my videos of my experiences so far (posted by Fathead).
Color: Yellow
The media could not be loaded. Package was quite robust and sturdy; protected the product quite well. Assembly was quite easy, and there were no issues, other than minor rubbing of the frame paint on some of the packing materials. You will definitely need to air up the tires. Mine came inflated around 10 psi. My tire say no more than 20 psi max. The derailer in cassette gears we’re all perfectly set up and the brakes seem to be set up near perfect as well, right out of the box. The bike is powerful enough to go faster than 21.6 mph, but it is electronically limited. It takes about one second to start assisting you with peddling, so from a dead stop you might want to twist the throttle to get going, because it is such a tall bike if you are under 6 feet tall. The instructions say it can handle 300 pounds, but the advertisement online says 330 pounds load. Right out of the box I only had to charge it for about an hour and a half to get it to fully charged, which is when the charger light turns from red to green. The bike is overall hard to beat. It’s a pain in the butt to fold up for storage or transport, and unfold back out to the riding configuration… set removing the seat before you do this makes it just a little bit easier and mark out packed and taken off the front wheel with a quick release might make it easier yet. Both the seat in the front will have a quick removal levers for tool-free removal in just a second or two. If you transport it on a bike rack that hooks into your hitch receiver on the back of your vehicle, be careful not to let the bike’s weight rest on the electrical wires! The wires could get pinched and then you would have a major problem yes the wires were damaged during all of the bounces and bumps of road travel. I fashioned a piece of dense foam from the packing materials that came in the box to have a channel where the wires would sit in and then the rest of the weight of the bike would be put on the frame. Even in an expensive, upscale destination like Lake Tahoe…she was a head-turner, and a lot of people were amazed that I paid under $850 before tax and shipping. It performed quite well on hills, hardpacked off road conditions, but likely would not be well suited for extremely challenging mountain biking conditions, and was not powerful enough to go through beach sand. Honestly most bikes can’t go through beach sand anyway. You need a powerful motorcycle to get through sand when your tires are only 4” wide or less. Like I said, it’s a great bike for the price and I am not wanting to spend thousands of dollars on some high-end bike it likely won’t last much longer than this one. I don’t think you could be regretful of buying this bike unless you had something that showed up damaged already. From all the reviews it seems like that is not going to happen. ... show more

  • Good value, Good bike, ripe for upgrades & some adjustments.
Color: Yellow
Bang for the buck on this bike is very high. The specs & layout is a good starting point accepting that you are tall and this is a style you want. Immediate upgrades for me personally included: 1. A snap in 3d printed phone holder which also included a DC-DC converter(step down from 48v), circuit for iphone charging, and conventional USB port accessory. 2. A rear light module built into the seat (My intial resin printed verison broke when a big bump caused a collision. I reprinted this is TPU so that it flexes now instead of breaks and all is well). You can also wire this to the brake switch so that brightness adjusts as a brake light. 3. A welded trailer bike for my kid (turns out a rail road spike is a perfect dimension). 4. Adhesive foam bumper pads surrounding the battery to cushion impacts & reduce rattling). 5. A strategically hidden itag for tracking in case of theft. 6. A realization that I just can't handle riding around with a giant "Totguard" banner down the side, and so sand & paint. 7. Removal and remount of speed control which is otherwise just jammed into the frame near the seat with no fasteners whatsoever. I also used a thermally conductive epoxy to more efficiently transfer heat to the aluminum frame. 8. This bike could really use some mirrors. I added one to the right grip which was easy and effective but it does make it a bit wider and a tighter squeeze between cars or other obstacles. 9. (this is a later add/edit) In the highest gear ratio, if your cable adjustment or a random bump allows for your chain to slip off the sprocket, it can lock into the groove between the sprocket & frame which will prevent you from pedaling at all (but you can ride home on all electric provided you have the charge). This happened a few times, and was remedied by turning & installing a thick plastic washer that now occupies that space. The chain can still occasionally move to that position but the washer prevents it from locking in and you can easily just shift back onto the sprocket. Pros: This is a cool bike that I'm getting a lot of mileage on. The battery is adequate for long rides around town without being too heavy. The gearing is good too, and although I had some reservations about the rolling mass of large diameter fat tires, they've proven to be pretty decent if a bit thin. I did get a flat at one point via a simple pointed piece of wood mulch but haven't had trouble since then, and the low inflation pressure helps keep them pretty low maintance. The large diameter tire makes it a bit unwieldly to fold compared to my wife's which also has folding handlebars & pedals but it's nice to get this thing folded into a car without a trailer in a pinch. Bascially useful for impromptu emergency pickups as needed/desired. The display is basic but gets the job done. The one significant issue I've had so far was a screw came out of the main upper shock mount. This meant that I had to find a new fastener and then compress a 1000lb shock to reattach the assembly. This was fairly hard and upon closer inspection made me realize that brake/shift lines are wearing through already near the shock. I've since rerouted and addressed this shortcoming but I will be keeping a close eye on this moving forward as it is very clearly a safety hazard. I actually should write the company about this also as my hardware isn't probably optimal at the moment. Overall though, this bike works for me and I really enjoy it. It gets a lot of compliments as well and people all assume it was much more expensive than it was. I don't know what wheel of randomness was spun in order to name it "Totguard" but while I found it initially hillarious, I have since renamed it. Oh China! Anyway, this is about as good as any other bike coming from China- including those which cost much more. If you're handy and aware of/able to address its shortcomings then this is a great choice for you. I've only had it a few months so can't speak much to its longevity but so far so good! Edit: October '23. Still going strong, I ride this daily and tow my kid to/from gradeschool on her hitched pedal-bike. We both enjoy riding around town on it. The standard mechanical disc brakes were getting to be unreliable and a hassle to keep adjusting, esp. with the trailers' extra mass. I upgraded easily to 4 piston full hydraulics with resin pads. Now everything is great and I can do stoppies it brakes so quick and realiably. The upgrade took maybe an hour, was cheap, and was really well worth it. Just be sure you get a kit that includes the motor cut off switch- they aren't all that common (yet). ... show more

  • Do Not buy from this merchant
Color: Blue
Nice Bike but had an electronics problem out of the box, so we wanted to return it. I am old and have no truck, so I couldn't take it (big box, 87#) to the post office and have no idea what the postage would cost. Tried to go through FedEx ( as originating shipper) and instead of $90, the lowest it would cost is if I shipped it to Amazon using FedEx as the originator of the order, it would cost me anywhere from about $550 to 2000+. Seller wanted us to fix rather than take the bike back and we got no help from Amazon on this. If you are tall (Over 5'10") and willing to do field fixes on a new item, this might be a good value for you as it is a nice riding bike when it works. I am really disappointed with Amazon's lack of support. Due to this experience and hours of wrangling, I gave it bad value for the money. ... show more
