I just got this umbrella today, very timely as we're about to start a predicted week of rain. It's as pretty as I thought it would be. It's a nice blue color on the top and floral on the underside. It opens and closes with the button easily, the velcro strap to close it is thicker than usual. It seems sturdy. The fabric is a type of vinyl, not the usual type of fabric you expect on the umbrella. One star marked off because of the ugly smell of the vinyl. I bought the floral design umbrella. The material is made of 100% polyester per the label. The weird looking outer layer is very slick and shiny and a medium-dark blue. It almost looks like it’s been covered in some type of chemical…think one of those big shiny heavy duty lawn trash bags. It does have a chemical odor to it that I’m hoping will go away if I leave it outside overnight. The under layer looks like every other umbrella fabric with a pretty floral design. The one button open and close worked fine. The wide band to hold the umbrella closed barely reaches the Velcro. I had to pull it really hard to make it fit. It does stand upside down to drain water off, so that’s nice. It might rain tomorrow. I will update my review after actually using it in the rain. I did check for any holes and didn’t see any. It’s not exactly what I was expecting but if it works as it should then I will probably keep it. ... show more
