Features

  • MORE SILENT: With improved drainage outlet, a max noise output of 42 decibels, it's just as quiet as the local library. You might hear the sound of the fan flinging water onto the internal components to improve efficiency. If the sound is too much, you can remove the upgraded drain plug to reduce the noise.
  • EFFICIENT COOLING: Cool your room fast with 8000 BTUs of power. This unit is best for spaces up to 350 sq. ft. like bedrooms, living rooms, dorms, or small apartments.
  • ADJUSTABLE AIR VENTS: Our slanted air louvers can be adjusted to blow cool air up to 20 feet away. Heat rises, so adjust the louvers so that cool air blows above your head to quickly cool the entire room.
  • SAVES YOU MONEY: An Energy-Star rating makes this Window AC better for the environment and your wallet. With an EER of 12.0, you can expect to pay about $65 per year to operate this Window AC unit.

  • Good quiet window air conditioner
I bought this thing about 2 years ago because it was supposed to be quieter than other window air conditioners. Our bedroom gets really hot in the summer because it's directly above the garage and I generate heat like crazy when sleeping and that would wake me up covered in sweat. We had another A/C before this one, but the fan would run constantly and the compressor would just kick on and off when needed to maintain the temperature in the room. No bueno. So we spent a lot more on this one as it's supposed to be quieter. Overall I really like this air conditioner. It turns COMPLETELY off when it doesn't need to run. And I mean, no noise whatsoever like it's completely dead. There is a setting (Follow-me, I think it's called) where the air conditioner kicks on and off based on the temperature at the remote control. So put the remote close to your bed pointing at the air conditioner and it tells it when to turn on and off. It works very well. We set this thing at 68 degrees and basically run it 24/7 for 9 months out of the year. We've had it 2 years now and it has performed flawlessly. I can actually fall asleep during the cycles when the air conditioner is completely silent and the intermittent noise of it coming on throughout the night doesn't wake me up. It also has what I call a 'gentle' spin up of the fan. When the air conditioner does come on, the fan sloooowly comes on instead of that sudden lurch to full speed you get on others. So no sudden noises in the middle of the night to jar you out of sleep. This thing is also much quieter than the other windows air conditioners we've had. Noticeably so. The only downsides I've seen are that there is a light you can't turn completely off on the front. It's not very bright at all, but I like cave-like darkness when I sleep. A couple of pieces of black tape fixed that though. It also at one point had a slight vibration-type rattle at about a year in. Sounded like a piece of metal that was loose and vibrating on the outside-the-window portion of the air conditioner when the thing was running. Not real loud though and eventually went away on its own, so I'm not sure what it was. Overall, I highly recommend this air conditioner. It has spoiled me when I'm sleeping in my nice cool and quiet bedroom now. ... show more

  • Good overall window a/c unit
First, I am a very candid person and do not sugar coat anything for a review. With that being said, so far, I love it. I've had it a little less than a month now. Upfront, if anyone wants a high-powered fan and all of the noise that comes with it, don't get this model. However, if you are looking for a quiet model that can get the room cooled and dehumidified very well in a timely manner, then I would strongly suggest this model. Other than having someone help me lift it into the window, I needed no other assistance. The foam padding provided for insulation on both sides of the unit is wonderful. Instructions are easy to follow, if you have common sense. My one and only complaint is that I did not get the model with the swing action. I use this unit in my upstairs bedroom and with a fan outside the door, I'm able to cool the other bedroom and bathroom at the end of the hall. I was able to eliminate a second unit I had been using in the other room. That, coupled with the energy efficiency of this unit, my electric bill actually decreased significantly. More so than by just removing the second unit would have. If you are wanting to upgrade from an older, loud, less efficient model, I highly recommend this model. It is quiet enough that I can hear noises from downstairs when it is running. With the old unit, I heard nothing from downstairs. I don't like not being able to hear what's going on in my house. I am so happy I chose this model! If you use this unit inside the specs and follow the instructions, I can't imagine that you won't love it too. I feel that I made a smart investment. ... show more

  • Pretty decent for the price! Just a couple quirks...
When they say this thing is quieter than normal window AC units, that is true. It is. Of course, when the compressor kicks in, you hear it, so it's definitely not silent, but when directly compared to a LG window unit I have of the same size, it is definitely quieter. The only things that bother me: 1. If you shut it off, when you turn it back on, it goes to the ES mode instead of the mode you previously had it on (cool, in my case). That's annoying. It should come back on to the same mode. 2. It will make additional noises such as ticking due to expansion/contraction of something inside as it operates. That can be slightly annoying. 3. It will also make water gurgling/sloshing sounds too as it spins up. But it seems my LG unit does this too and I've read that this is normal and part of the design. I get that. Apparently this makes it more efficient, but the water sloshing sounds as it starts up the compressor are annoying and adds to the noise. That's about it. In summary, you can't beat the price, it is quieter than other window AC units, and it cools well. ... show more

  • Very quiet
So I got this unit and it was really nice it was very quiet even when on high I will say the controls are rather weird the front of the system is touch screen but there isn’t a function for the low medium and high labels on the front and my other issue is that it arrived with a crack in the front of it while I will say the crack was practically nothing it still bothers me to buy a new product and to find a crack but over all instructions were simple and the unit is great so I’d give it a 8/10 ... show more

  • Pretty good
Pretty good. Quiet. Cools off house. Honestly did not use the remote so can’t rate that. But overall the air conditioner did not work as good as it did when I first got it. It was not as cold and that was About a month after using it.

  • Very Good Choice!
I've waited to review the Tosot until my second Summer with this unit because part of my judgement is based on longevity. This A/C has been perfect for my condo. I bought it along with an Ivation window brace. I'm 72 and managed to get it in and out of the window but you should consider getting help installing it. The energy savings are dramatic. Very happy with it's efficiency and noise level. ... show more
