I had two requirements: selectable color and light focused down instead of putting too much light out into the room. These fit the bill, so I tried'em. At first I was put off by the 12" length, but then I realized that it could work out, especially if they are easy to gang together. It's very easy! My first install was a bit tricky. I was planning to use the insert-and-slide screw holes in the bottom as per instructions. But the problem with that is getting the screws in exactly the right place and getting them just tight enough to be able to insert and slide. That was tough, especially working on the bottom side of a cabinet. But then I realized that there are two ways to attach; there are screw holes that go all the way through the fixtures and caps to cover the holes when you're done. The other tricky part is getting the wires into the fixture. There are stab connectors that are easy enough to connect, but the wires coming from the wall are stiff, even at 14 gauge, and it's hard to get them stuffed in at just the right location. Up against a back splash there is no room for a strain-relief gadget (they supply two). BTW, the fixtures come with plug-in cords if you want that, but my installation was replacing built-in lights. So, for me the first one was a challenge to secure in place with the wires behind, but the next one could be connected end-to-end with little supplied connectors. The connector is enough to hold the second fixture in place so I could drill the guide holes and insert screws vertically exactly where I wanted them. No wiring required on the second one. The learning curve helped with the second pair, which took very little time to attach and make operational. I'm ordering more to continue installing around the kitchen. I have a situation that these will clear up. I have an under-cabinet light that is switched with the cabinets on the other side of the room. Seems silly, and I've just turned that one off. There is another one nearby that is switched separately from all the others. So, with the provided linking cord, I will be able to have the two switched together, which makes for more sense than the original configuration. This is not a knock, exactly, but I'm going to have to replace my wall switches with dimmer switches because these are going to be too bright once I put them all in and set them to the color my wife wants. They are dimmable, so this will not be a big deal. ... show more

These lights come with everything needed - and for any installation type. I opted to have everything concealed. Took the electrician (one man) approx 6 hours - well worth it. Drilled thru the cabinet into the cavity of the wall and fished the wiring above the cabinets, protected the wiring with conduit, added a dimmer, and even an outlet above the cabinets for future strip lighting up there as well.     • Mounting Screws are Too Long.

My husband and I got these lights to put in while we were remodeling our kitchen. We wanted the lights to be hardwired in. Installing the lights was somewhat straightforward but the included screws to mount them up underneath the cabinets were too long so we had to find shorter screws so that they would not puncture through the bottom of our cabinets. Also there is not much room to work with when your hard-wiring the wires. You cannot have much wire left or it will not fit in the Box even having the minimum amount of wire is hard to get into the box. The lights are all interconnected with the included jumper cables. We got two 8-in lights and 6 12-in lights. When using the cables in between the lights we had to connect two together when we were doing the inner corner cabinet, so keep that in mind. One cable was not long enough to reach diagonally for the light that we put underneath the inner corner cabinet. I also have noticed flickering of the lights since we installed them a couple months ago. The flickering actually started soon after they were installed, if we have the brightness turned all the way up with the dimmer switch (not included). They do still occasionally flicker even when we have them on other settings but more so if they're turned all the way up. I don't know if this is a dimmer switch issue or the lights themselves. The light modes/color (warm/cool) work well and the brightness is good. The make working at the counter much nicer with the light. I also like to leave the lights on the lowest brightness in the evening so that there's a little bit of light in the kitchen when I go in; instead of, it being completely dark. ... show more

These are nice lights. I've bought them in the past for under the kitchen cabinets but now I need several pairs for lighting between rows of shelving. I plan on buying another set too. I liked that I was able to hook 2 extensions together to place the sets of lights several feet apart. The other reason I bought these in the first place was that you can adjust the lighting temperature. I then hooked them into a smart plug so I could turn them on and off with Alexa. ... show more
