  • Perfect little extra burner for family dinners and super safe!
My husband and I always run out of space on our regular stove when we cook big meals or just have family over. I got this portable burner to set up on the kitchen island so we could have an extra spot to cook. It is honestly so amazing and boils a big pot of water for my young kids mac and cheese in just a few minutes. It has a bunch of different heat levels so u can just simmer sauce or really blast the heat to fry some bacon. My absolute favorite thing about this stove is the child safety lock. My toddler is always reaching up trying to grab stuff off the counter and this lock gives me so much peace of mind. It also has a auto shut off feature so if my hubby gets distracted and forgets to turn it off it wont burn the house down. Because it uses induction heating the glass top doesnt get crazy hot like a normal stove does which is just another awesome safety thing for us moms. Just remember u need the right kind of magnetic pots for it to actually work. If your someone who only cooks with copper or glass pans then u should definitely not buy this cause it wont turn on for those. But if you have stainless steel pots and just need a reliable extra burner for cooking big meals I totally recommend it. It is realy light weight so I can even take it out to the patio when we want to cook outside and clean up is just a simple wipe with a damp paper towel! ... show more

  • no complaints
This induction cooktop delivered exactly what the listing promised during testing. Setup was straightforward, the controls are intuitive, and all advertised features worked as expected without confusion or defects. The biggest surprise was heating performance. Using a compatible stainless steel pot, I was able to boil water noticeably faster than on my glass-top electric range. The 1600W output feels legitimate, making this a practical option when you need extra cooking capacity for entertaining, holiday meals, canning prep, or other projects. The touch controls are simple to understand, the display is clear, and the built-in timer and safety features functioned correctly during testing. The cooling fan is present, as expected with induction units, but it's fairly quiet and never became distracting. Build quality is good for the price point. The unit is lightweight enough to move and store easily, yet stable on the countertop during use. The smooth glass surface also makes cleanup quick and easy. A few things to keep in mind: this is an induction cooktop, so you'll need compatible magnetic cookware. Stainless steel and cast iron worked as expected during testing. If you're coming from a conventional electric stove, there may be a brief learning curve regarding compatible cookware and the way induction heating behaves. Overall, the listing claims appear accurate. Fast heating, easy cleanup, quiet operation, and reliable performance make this a genuinely useful tool to keep around for both cooking and non-cooking uses such as crafting projects that require controlled heat. ... show more

  • It does work, but it can be rather picky with pans (beyond just induction safe pans)
First off, the instruction book is horribly translated and doesn't even know that this is an induction stove on every page. Seriously, it seems like some of the pages of the book are from a different cooktop altogether, and the whole thing was put through a translator from 2003. This is also not safety listed at all. No UL listing. No any kind of listing. That doesn't fill me with confidence, to be honest. It does work for the most part. I have discovered that it is a bit picky when it comes to pots and pans. I have some induction safe pans that it will throw an E5 (overheat) warning repeatedly, for absolutely no reason. The only way I can stop it from doing that is by setting it all the way down on 600w. That's the lowest setting, and it's intermittent instead of just being a lower setting. It's basically turning 900w setting on and off. The lack of a UL listing does keep me from being too interested in turning it all the way up. That's fine for most things, but it definitely slows it down when it comes to boiling water. I mean, I can't see any quality issues, but I really don't want to end up with a fire. I also don't smell burning electronics, so that's good. I have used it for probably a combined 2 hours, and I haven't had any issues beyond the weird E5 errors. It seems to very much prefer stainless pans over induction safe nonstick pans. I can cook the exact same thing, at the exact same temperature in the stainless pan, and not get the E5 warning. It can handle pans with bottoms roughly 4.7 to 8.6" wide. That's most pans, outside of the huge ones. Remember, the pan size is the size of it at the top, not the bottom. A 12" pan isn't going to be 12" on the bottom. A pot would though. A 12" pot is a rather large pot though. An 8qt pot is usually a bit smaller than that. An 8qt pot would be too big for this. That's something that a lot of people would call a "spaghetti pot". Value for money is a bit tricky with this one. You can get a double burner, portable induction stove that is UL listed for not a whole lot more than this. I place quite a bit of value on my house not burning down, so that's worth the extra money to me. ... show more

  • Perfect solution for a trial run at induction cooking
I received the TOPWISH Single Burner Electric Cooktop through the Amazon Vine program. The cooktop is compact, well-built, and doesn't take up much counter space, making it a great option for small kitchens, dorm rooms, RVs, or as an extra burner when cooking for larger gatherings. It's perfect for me and my kitchen because I've been wanting to try an induction stovetop, but they are quite expensive. All I need now is to read up about induction cooking. It's so different from both electric and gas cooktops. It heats up quickly and provides consistent heat for boiling, frying, simmering, and other everyday cooking tasks. The controls are straightforward and easy to adjust, making it simple to select the desired temperature or power level. The cooking surface is easy to wipe clean after use, which makes maintenance hassle-free. The unit feels sturdy, and the portable design makes it convenient to move or store when it's not needed. Overall, this is a reliable, easy-to-use cooktop that performs well and offers a practical solution whenever an additional cooking surface is needed. ... show more

  • First time cooking with induction; very impressed
I currently have a regular gas range in my kitchen and have been considering switching to induction when I renovate later this year. I've watched/read a lot about the "induction experience", but wanted to give it a shot myself. I'm.. very impressed. There's absolute no "waste heat" from this, so all the energy gets put directly into the pan, and thus into the food. That also means you can regulate the temperature up and down both precisely and *quickly*. If you're cooking eggs, and it's a bit too hot, for instance, turning it down reduces the temperature of the pan almost instantly, and makes your results better. There is a small cooling fan, which is audible during longer or higher temperature use, but it's not loud or bothersome at all. The top has proven easy to clean so far, and food doesn't tend to burn to it, because, again, it gets the *pan* hot, and not really the surface of the cooker itself. If you're expecting something like the old single burner electric countertop units you might have had in your college dorm, this performs in a whole different league. My only possible negative observation is that this doesn't appear to carry a UL or ETL rating, which seems.. un-ideal, especially for something running at high temperatures and around liquids or moisture. But it's also something that would only be used attended (I would hope), and unplugged when not in use. ... show more
