The shock mode on this collar is STRONG- stronger than the one on my other dogs ‘Sport Dog’ collar. I did try it out on myself to make sure it was ok for my dog. So while it is very strong, it isn’t painful which is good ( I wouldn’t use it on my dog if it was painful). This collar has the normal three modes (beep, vibrate, shock). My dogs know that vibrate and shock are a recall - meaning they come when vibrated, so I usually only need vibrate on my older collar. I have found the same thing works with this collar. This vibrate works very well and is equivalent to the Sport Dog vibration power. The remote is easy to use and simple. I have found the range for the remote/collar to be comparable to SD combo. My dog weighs about 80 lbs and this works just fine for her. The battery seems to last for a decent amount of time, so no complaints there, I have just been charging it every time I charge my other dogs SD collar- about every two weeks. The collar is supposed to be waterproof- my dog has wore it in the rain and for a bath just fine, but I can’t speak about how it holds up swimming because we haven’t been swimming with it yet. The actual collar is pretty durable- my dogs like to chew on everything and so far it hasn’t been ruined. My other dog has gotten their tooth caught on this collar while my female dog was wearing it. It does have plenty of extra length in case your dog has a thick neck. I try to tuck it in but sometimes it just flaps over, but doesn’t bother my dog. Overall, great quality for the price which isn’t too expensive.

They are super easy to set up and use. My dogs are quite large but they seem to work pretty good. I like the design too. Easy to charge and they last a long time. The distance the controller can work seems long too. highly recommended.

This feels a lot better in the hand, and less cheap than a lot of these "static" training collars you find on amazon. My only complaint with the collar is that there is no way to "wake" the LCD screen without pressing a button, and sometimes I want to look at the current settings without sending a "beep" to my dog. Otherwise I like this collar a lot, and I use the "beep" feature of this with him regularly. He responds well to just the beep. You can also just use the "vibrate" feature of the collar, if the beep is not enough, and that works really well without any harm to your animal.

The collar for this is huge! The one side is over 19" long, and it'll make a circle more than 8" in diameter with the buckle in the last hole. It has a nice remote transmitter which fits comfortably in the hand and transmits a long distance. The transmitter allows you to send a tone, send a vibrate, or send a shock. The tone and vibration do not have adjustable intensity. The shock is able to be adjusted between 1 and 16. There are 2 sizes of electrodes to fit different hair thicknesses. There's also a shock testing light which doubles as a wrench for the electrodes. Interestingly, the device says it should not be worn by the dog for more than 12 hours (ideally not more than 6 hours). I think, if you keep taking the collar off, the dog will learn what the collar does. However, with positive reinforcement along with occasional shock punishment, I think your dog can be trained.
