This is a great, effective, affordable tool for use in a professional environment. If you are repairing harnesses, building amplifiers or just have a lot of 12-18 gauge wire to strip this is the ticket. It's so efficient. It does a great job and is intuitive to use. You will get used to it very quicky and won't have to ever look at the gauge. It fits in the hand well, the grip is good and it strips wire perfectly over and over. There are other alternatives that have wire gauge plates for each individual gauge and they do have a little more refined feel. They also do have a cleaner strip. This tool is perfect though if you are repairing a wire or going to heatshrink over the joint anyway. I prefer it 95% of the time to my nice Snap On strippers or the super refined gauge plate strippers. Every tool has it's place though! Try it, you'll become a believer too. ... show more

This little tool is incredible! you can strip duplex 10 ga or smaller without having to even separate them. Strip both wires at once! I've done 2 or 3 pretty good size projects with this tool and it is flawless and is especially nice if you want to strip a bit longer than normal for switches and such so you can wrap a loop. Every DIY'er that works on electrical things should have this in their bag of tricks! ... show more

It cut down the time I spent stripping wire for class. My teacher has one. So, I got one. It works like a charm. If it is cutting into the strands of wire then adjust the back tension screw. After you have the correct tension on the screw. . . leave it alone. Great product! I hope to be using it for years to come. ... show more
