I had some 'learning experiences' after purchasing the TOOENJOY Roof Rack Cargo Basket, but am pleased with the unit. Think it's a good value. Part of the strength of this unit is that it is precision engineered. The elements are close tolerance. After assembly and tightening the fasteners, it is quite strong. The downside to this is: if components are damaged in shipment or assembly, it may be difficult/impossible to install the provided fasteners. Unpack carefully and retain the packaging. Obviously, a return is not trivial. In addition, there are specific measurements not mentioned until you view the assembly instructions: All measurements in the pictorial instructions are metric, but I'll give the equivalent inches too (decimal portion and rounding always up). The mounting cross members front to back centerlines should be a minimum of 600mm (23.7). The mounting cross members side to side u-bolt centers should be a minimum of 800mm (31.5). The width of the mounting cross members front to back should be a maximum of 80mm (3.2). The thickness of the mounting cross members should be a maximum of 35mm (1.4). If your mounting situation does not meet these requirements, you will have to make adjustments. ... show more

I love this roof cargo basket! I had purchased a cargo bag, and roof crossbars, but I didn't like the idea of the cargo bag touching the paint of my car. This roof rack was the perfect solution because it fit my cargo bag, almost to the T. The installation is rather simple, but does take a little longer than expected since you have to screw in the bolts manually. However, once installed, it is very sturdy! I took a 20 hour drive down to Florida, from Chicago, and this roof cargo basket did the job flawlessly. Once I saw that everything was secure in the basket, I never once was concerned about the cargo bag falling out. Great purchase if you just need the basket! ... show more

It was a bit of a go to get this together .... a few tips 01) assemble on a table just large enough so you get get to all four sides with ease. 02) take the rods that are tapped and hand screw the bolts all the way in in and out a couple times to clear the threads 03 lay all the rods out and slide each on as far on one of the sides. each rod is a bit shorter then the depth of the hole SO . 04 line the other side up with the rods and set each rod just below the how with the edge close it . 05. gently pick up a rod from one end insert in the hole till it is just inside, mind you do not pull it out the other end. 06. thread the bolts in going side to side and down the the front of the tray bottom. 07 once all the bolds are in tighten them up ... show more

Assembly wasn't bad and I had it on the car roof in about 45 minutes. No noticeable wind noise on the interstate loaded with luggage or empty. It is an affordable luggage carrying solution.

Once assembled, the rack is very sturdy. However, it took over two hours to assemble. The instructions are awful. You'll need a magnifying glass.

I really like this rack. Took it on a 3-hour trip down to Columbia gorge and Portland. It works great for what I needed. I didn't have any sound issues. It makes me wonder if some cars just push air differently. I have a 2020 Jeep compass and this didn't give me any extra road sound or any issues. It didn't affect my gas mileage, as bad as it is normally 🙂 . Was easy to put together. Came with all the parts and an Allen wrench so I didn't need any extra tools. For the price I would recommend it. I will update this if I run across any issues. ... show more
