I got the 4 hole with the egg holder attachment. This is a cute nest box and a good size. The metal is somewhat thin but I think it'll be fine. I was left with plenty extra bolts and there are some extra holes for them but nothing to attach in those places. Not sure if there are other configurations for it or what. The instructions were definitely lacking - just a dark photocopy of some images in varying stages of assembly. It wasn't too hard to get together though. The metal had a couple minor dings in it and one of the screw holes was off by about 1/8 inch, just enough to make it difficult to put the screw in one of the roost bars but with a little muscle I got it to work.     • It's really 29.5" long not 23.5" directions are a bit difficult to understand. Very sturdy.

Annoyed that the measurement's were not correct., as I had it measured out for inside my coop and now need to re think my layout. The directions were difficult to understand. Once assembled it was very sturdy. Hopefully my girls will use it, as all 7 want to lay in the same box that is attached to the coop and I am hoping they may choose a new box. I'm adding 2-3 more hens and hoping having a total of 6 boxes will encourage them to lay in different boxes. ... show more

Easy to assemble. Compartments are a little on the small size for larger breeds but the girls are learning to use them (we added a wooden egg that sits loosely in each compartment). No more broken or eaten eggs. So far just a hosing off keeps them clean. Chickens were eating their eggs, couldn't stop them in time to collect. Bought this nesting box, chickens are laying eggs, they roll down and chickens cannot get to them. Back to collecting 20 eggs a day. Definitely worth buying. ... show more

This has taken our chicken pen to the next level. Before we just had the hens lay wherever. It is made of nice material and will be easy to clean. The chickens took to it right away.
