Easy to be use and The battery lasts for 2 weeks And real time is very accurateI take a little more time for this review, because I almost had the device as "disabled" sent back, as well as others have already done. Now I know, not the device or the app have problems, but I need to set apn for the device. It is worthwhile to deal with it. My opinion: The device is valuable, works flawlessly and is simply a force for this price. The app works flawlessly and can even be extended for multiple trackers. The service from China is outstanding! In detail: The device arrived as usual fast (Prime) and perfectly packed. The scope of delivery includes a charging cable, a transport bag and various SIM card adapters as well as a user manual, which is admittedly incomplete(You can email the seller for help!) The setup of the tracker was fast in a few minutes and the communication with the device via SMS worked immediately flawlessly, the tracker sends back a Google Maps link with its current location. The accuracy is outstanding. Then it became tricky: The download of the app and the installation were still uncomplicated, unfortunately, the app did not work at all. The app always showed that the tracker was offline. After several attempts to change the settings, I wanted to give up and send the device back, because the app is crucial for me. As a last attempt, I contacted the Chinese service via email and shared my phone number for a whatsapp contact. To my surprise, after only a few minutes, I got an answer and a friendly employee of the seller went through all the settings with me via whatsapp. An outstanding service, where so many companies have to be measured! The communication was in English. Problem found and solved! 1. GPS Offline means (you can guess): the device does not have GPS/2G reception. So get out on the balcony and test there. 2. Device is offline means that there is no internet connection. In the vast majority of cases, including me, it is due to missing or incorrect APN entries. This one gets from the network provider of the sim card, which is in the tracker. My mobile APN information I have also found on the web. I had simply entered the wrong APN name. Immediately after the change to the right value, the tracking also worked perfectly with the app and still does it today. It's great what this little device does. Important: The Tracker SIM card must have data volumes The APN information must be entered correctly GPS works (of course) only outside Super Feature: The app lets (apparently) only track one device. On demand, I learned from the service, that if you want to monitor several trackers in the app at the same time, they will create a special account, so it is perfect for vehicle rental, etc. Conclusion: do not be frustrated, this is where EVERYTHING works! If not, it's probably not on the tracker or the app. Great product, excellent service!

This is actually my first gps tracker that I have purchased. I had difficulty setting it up. It took about 3 tries to get it starting. This product comes with a GPS tracker, USB port without the head to charge, a tiny bag where I put the USB port meanwhile the gps is already in use, & a manual. I bought the recommended SIM CARD because it was not included. I purchased the $5 monthly subscription to try it out. So far I like: the battery life has lasted a week. It’s at 90%, I changed it to 12 hour mode stand by. I think it turns on every time the car moves. Which I believe should save some battery life. I chose this product mainly for the app. It took me about a week to decided what I was looking for. I read through these reviews and I was happy to read most of them. The bad reviews, I believe they expect it to work as a $500 dollar product. I paid about $60 all together & it works great. It has magnets so it’s a plus. They work really well. Just have to find a good area so it doesn’t fall. Thus far, I like the product mainly for the app. It is easy to navigate once you get it started. I disliked: that it was a bit hard to get it starting. Just follow the instructions and you’ll get it. Yes, that’s what I thought. I would msg the command and after the 5th command it wouldn’t reply. I was frustrated and would put it away. I emailed them and I got no response. I still have not gotten a response back from them. So if you get an email, keep it. I believe it had a number on it. I accidentally deleted it, & regret I did. My 3rd attempt Setup: 1.) Get your SIM CARD number ( it doesn’t say in the instructions) by logging in their carrier website. 2. ) insert SIM CARD & charge the GPS tracker. 3.) follow manual instructions. 4.) I commanded for GPS to turn on 5.) I commanded for GPRS to turn on 6.) check for blue & yellow lights blinking. 7.) then I connected to the APP & it worked 8.) i changed every other commands through the app once I was able to connect the app with the gps tracker. 9.) now it’s being used and I only use the app to locate the tracker.

Bought this TKSTAR TK905 GPS tracker last week and I’m really impressed. Installation took literally 5 minutes — super strong magnet, no wires needed, and it hides perfectly under the truck. Real-time tracking works flawlessly on the app, battery lasts long, and the anti-theft alarm even sent me a notification when someone got near it. Waterproof, compact, and feels solid. I bought this to use with a personal Traccar server. It does work, but it’s not at all obvious to figure out how. The docs are the usual confusing and incomplete stuff you typically get with cheap chinese devices like this. For those who are wondering, the SMS command to change servers is “adminip<yourpass> <ip or domain name> <port>”. Default pass is 123456. It uses some random protocol that is not officially in the Traccar list, but if you use the port for huabao (5015 by default) and add two zeros to the front of the device ID, it works great. Once I got it set up it’s been great. I get about two weeks out of a battery with moderate driving activity. A lot more if the vehicle is stationary a lot. You can also just plug in the USB if it’s a permanent installation inside the cab. The magnet is strong enough that it isn’t coming loose in the rear wheel well of my sometimes off-road truck. It is also accurately transmitting good location data while under all that metal. I’m using it with a Hologram sim in the US.

I've used GPS trackers on my yacht and on my dinghy ever since our dinghy was stolen about 7 years ago. This year, after the global GPS reset, my old trackers stopped working and I started looking for replacements. I had an advantage over most newbie buyers in that I already understood the nutty SMS messaging codes these units use to set up the tracker and get position reports. I was amazed at the number of trackers now on the market - very confusing. The TKSTAR (recommended by Amazon) looked OK and was reasonably priced, waterproof, and after reading the reviews and doing a little googling to find and read the manual for the TKSTAR TK905 I bought one. The instructions were basically set up to use the TKSTAR with the App or Internet browser site. The App worked fine but one feature I really needed was to get an SMS alarm if the yacht moved - when it wasn't supposed to. As in, the mooring broke or the anchor drug. But for that to work with the App or Internet it meant the tracker had to be sending data all the time - and my local OPT (French) SIM card account would cost over $30 a month for that amount of data. If the unit only uploaded data once an hour the cost would be more reasonable but the warning might come an HOUR after the yacht moved. No good. When I ordered the TKStar I planned to use the SMS "move" command. This would not require data transfer; the unit would set a movement alarm and if the yacht moved, send an SMS warning. But the instructions that came with the TKSTAR did not include an SMS move command. I tried it anyway. It failed. So I contacted TKSTAR and got set up to chat with Kelly using WhatsApp. That worked really well and Kelly messaged, "call the tracker first to wake it up and get a position, then send the sms move123456 command. This time the SMS move command did work so the new Tracker is now installed, hidden away, quietly keeping watch over our yacht.

I am impressed with the product, and it has more functions than needed in real life. Tracking is perfect; the customer support is outstanding. I am still testing different SIM cards. The 5 dlls / month from Speedtalk is fine if you just want peace of mind, that is, the ability to locate your vehicle in the rare case of being stolen or lost, because no constant data traffic is needed. Even crossing the USA / Mexico border is not a problem; Speedtalk roaming service is reasonable. Mexican carriers work perfectly as well, and changing the APN settings is most of times unnecessary. The only warning is that, if you want to feel really confident, you need to spend time getting familiar with the product, the app, to test the sms functions, the way the LED lights work, etc. You need to practice. Otherwise you can get unpleasant surprises. There is a couple of functions that I still don't manage to get working. Both unnecessary in the field, to say the truth, but I need to test everything. I'll continue to ask for support and hope to get the issues solved. = = = Update: Android app works well, iOS app misses the history data storage, and the web service has the slight inconvenient of storing data in UTC+8 time (their server is in China, I assume).
