I initially did a lot of research before deciding to buy this ring and it came down to the thinkness of the steel, the depth of the ring, and the removable grate. After using it for 5 months everyone agrees it’s the nicest fire pit they’ve seen. I purchased 36 retaining wall blocks from Lowe’s along with some lava rock and landscape adhesive. 12 blocks fit perfectly around the 32” grate to the point where the ring just sits on top of them, after hammering the anchor tabs in. First we dug down a few inches and leveled the ground and then started laying the blocks. After each level we put the ring back on and adjusted the blocks for a snug fit. Then we dumped a few bags of lava rock in. At the end the pit sits around 10in high, perfect for putting your feet on and not too high to block the heat from getting to you. It took 2 of us a little less than 2 hours to build, which included digging into the hardest soil I’ve ever dealt with. I like having a grate for cooking but I hate having one on all the times as it’s in the way and can be a tripping hazard at night. But not installing the bolt the grate can still swing and pivot as designed but you can just take it off and store it elsewhwere when not in use. So far it is holding up nice as expected in the high Rocky Mountains. No signs of rust, but it’s an outdoor fire pit so I don’t really care about rust. The lava rocks drain the rain well and I haven’t had to shovel any ashes out after about 20 uses as they sift through the rocks and dissipate into the ground with some rain. If you’re looking for a state park grade ring at a great price, this is it.

This product seems to be great! I ordered it a few days ago, and it came today. After a bit of head scratching, I figured out the "extra bolt" was only to secure the packaging. (I should have read the answered questions first, duh.) Ditto the metal "plate" that was included... Anyway, we put it together easily after figuring out the above, carried it into the backyard and popped it down after raking our cedar bark away from it. The ring is extremely well made and heavy. Fit and finish the ring is excellent, and it was delivered with zero nicks, scratches, or dents. The weld on the seam is fine. Thick, 10 gauge steel with a nice rolled lip, and a very heavy cooking grate as well that swivels completely away from the fire. We live on the central coast of Oregon and we're pretty confident it will stand up to the rain and wind quite well. Our ring is going to be free standing; no rock around it other than some river rock that is also around the pond. It looks fabulous, and we're confidant it will give us many years of service!

I love this fire ring, it let's me go camping in my back yard whenever I want yet I can sleep inside and go to work the next day. My ring is a favorite with guests, it keeps the party warm (and outside) it provides a focal point, it encourages conversations. It's much better than TV. My ring was slightly damaged in shipping but Titan issued me a partial refund to set things right and all in all I'm very happy. I'm planning on paying a second ring for another spot in the garden. It's heavy and it's rugged. I plan on this ring lasting a long time. I've noticed a little surface rust but I imagine as it gets used a grill the oils from meals will seal the metal much like a cast iron skillet. Solid buy all in all. Do yourself a solid and get one.

**updated** 4 years later and this fire pit is still the best! It works beautifully for cooking and is the centerpiece of my moss garden. We get so many compliments on it and enjoy it often at our mountain house. **original post** Love this fire ring...it's super thick steel and works really well. It's just like those used in state parks and campgrounds we've visited over the years with a sturdy attached grill which swivels out for cooking. The ring arrived in a box with literally NO packaging...the steel tabs were just poking out of the box which was torn in shipping due to the lack of padding. Because of the thickness and quality of the actual product, nothing was damaged (except the box), so I was relieved that all arrived safely. There are no included directions to put the fire ring together, but assembly is pretty obvious once you unpack all the pieces. Overall this is an awesome fire ring...I would recommend and say this is a super fantastic deal!!

I am profoundly pleased with the fire ring I purchased and the outstanding customer service I received from Titan Distributors. First of all, this product is top notch. Heavy duty, well made and exactly what I would expect from a fire ring. The cooking grate swings out over the fire ring to allow easy movement of food on or off the fire without getting burned. I am 100% satisfied with the product. The second thing I encountered was the outstanding customer service I received from the distributor. To me it is what moves a good company into the great category. there was a minor defect in the product I received. I contacted Amazon and they wanted me to send the whole thing back rather than solve a minor problem. After getting that feedback from Amazon I contacted the distributor directly and explained the situation. They immediately send me an entire new product which I am guessing is much more efficient due to the weight of the product. I was totally impressed and thankful for their effort to bring complete resolution to my minor problem. As I think about the positive and very quick response from them, I feel like it was one of the best customer service experiences I have had in a very long time. I would buy anything from this company knowing they stand behind their product. Thank you!

I believe this is a very nice fire pit ring and I DID receive all the parts to it. It's heavy and should last a long time. Since I have a half a brain I was able to install the handle and the swivel grill with no problems and without non included instructions. The price is right for the quality and it COULD have scored 5 stars... BUT....... My ring look like a 5th grader welded it together... My wife could weld better than what I see. I was very disappointed when I opened the box and saw the shoddy weld. I have a grinder, welder, and any other tool to smooth it off and re weld if need be but... I shouldn't have to. I have sent a complaint to the maker and we'll see how they handle it. Personally I think it would be fair if they save themselves the return shipping and just refund me say $25? or so.. I don't know, maybe I am just too picky. If I surround it with pavers it would cover the bird crap weld but I hadn't planned on doing so. Your thoughts? UPDATE: The company contacted me after I sent them an email and pics. They were very speedy and professional in replying . They offered to either replace the ring or give me a 29% refund because of the weld. I took the refund and will smooth it out myself. The refund was very fair I felt and it saves them shipping costs on a new one and also the old one returning . I'm happy. Yes, I highly recommend this product and the customer service department is great.

I searched for awhile for a sturdy fire ring, because so many reviewers complained about the lack of quality with so many of these. I couldn't be happier with this one. I wanted this fire ring to be safe as well as durable since I am on a lake and surrounded by forest and a wide variety of family and guests use it. I put a wide bed of gravel down and lined that with decent sized rocks, so the fire ring is somewhat below the gravel bed, in the center, staying in place with the steel pins that are attached. It still looks rustic but is very safe and extremely sturdy. The moveable grill is perfect, rotating over the fire and coals when you need it and out of the way when you don't. I highly recommend this fire ring.

The build quality of this fire pit ring is amazing. It literally is just like the heavy duty fire pit rings you see at campgrounds. Our first fire in my backyard with this fire pit ring felt like we were camping because of this. Haha. I really like the grill that swivels on it too, which I think you probably could stand on and it wouldn't bend. Sometimes I get buyers remorse when I buy a product, but that is not the case with this fire pit ring. For the quality of product you are getting, the price is a steal. The only con I can think of is that there are no instructions included or at least not with mine. I just used some of the pictures on here to figure out how it goes together. Long story short. If you want a fire pit ring that is heavy duty with amazing build quality, then look no further. Buy this one. You will not regret it.
