  • Defective, Dangerous
Style: Kit 4085
I bought these feet to use with the AeroBlade Edge roof rails on my 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. One foot would not stay attached, which I found out the hard way. Fortunately I strapped a box to the rails with ratcheting straps; with a minimum of tension one footing came unseated. I tried reattaching it and it seemed to take, even with the straps taught. However, after driving a little bit at low speed, it came unseated again. I reattached it again and made it to my destination, driving very slowly, but it was coming unseated again. Had I been driving faster, or going farther, or been less lucky/vigilant, it could have caused an accident. I only had this problem with one out of four feet, but it was visually no different from any of the others, so either there's some QA flaw here or there's a design flaw. Aside from the design/quality/safety problem, it was a bit shocking how poorly designed, made, and even packaged these things were for a supposedly premium product. The feet (and the rails) came in thin, cheap cardboard boxes with even worse cardboard padding inside, from which they had come loose and were rattling around and jumbled up. The plastic end caps for the rails were poorly finished and left gaps. The rubber aero strip was just a piece of janky garbage. Sending these back and getting the OEM rails. ... show more

  • Wonderfully engineered!
Style: Kit 6098
This review is actually for all 3 components that combine to make up the Thule Wingbar Evo rack system. I purchased the foot pack and adapter kit on Amazon and would’ve got the crossbars too but had to use some credits I’d accumulated at REI. Nevertheless, I found this system easy to assemble using the Thule video tutorial, and the quietness of the rack at 75 mph is almost unnoticeable….less than the sound of your own car’s tires. I’ve replaced my Yakima system because the usable bar space was just 37” between the foot pads as opposed to 50” with the Thule. The difference is that Thule bars are not inserted into the footpads but rather sit atop them. Carrying a bike rack AND a cargo box together is now no problem whereas prior the Yakima rack was engineered in a way that prevented the cargo box from opening without first removing the bike rack. Consequently Yakima creates limitations to what can be carried on the roof….but now it’s no longer an issue. Pricier than Yakima by 50% but when it comes down to the lower-profile looks, virtually no wind noise, and twice the usability then there’s no comparison to investing in Thule. Besides, on the resale value you’d eventually get all the difference in price back. Go with Thule! ... show more

  • Does NOT fit 2021 Prius Prime
Style: Kit 5029
The 5029 clamp kit is listed on Thule’s website as suitable for my 2021 Prius Prime but after hours of trying to fit it I gave up. This is the first review for the kit on a 2021 Prius Prime, as far as I can tell. I couldn’t find any others anywhere. Both the front and back clamps are too short. Each has a peg that fits nicely into a factory-drilled hole in the door jamb, but they can’t be positioned to fit properly into the rain-gutter groove on the roof. They’re about 5 mm too short. The result is that during tightening the rubber pad pulls out of the groove and is no longer secured into place. I tried adjusting the side-to-side distance on the Evo Wingbars several times but there was no way to make the clamps fit. I asked for help from Thule’s website and was told none of the kits fit my Prius model; ironically, I was told to see proof on Thule’s fitmycar link, but there it was, clearly stating that the 5092 kit fits the 2021 Prius Prime!!! The end result of this futile exercise is that I can return the kit and car rack, but that leaves me with no roof rack at all. No other company makes them for Prius. No car rack, no bike rack, which the purpose for the roof rack. Not a happy customer. ... show more

  • Amazing Product, Horrid Documentation
Style: Kit 1562
Fit perfectly on my insight. However, insure the rubber foot pads are installed properly. Read below for detailed explanation. IMPORTANT: The directions say nothing about this, so unless you pay close attention on installation you will overlook this small but critical step. When you look at the foot pads, you'll notice the foot pads have differing edges to them; one side will be thicker and one side will be thinner. Insure the thicker side is installed on the downward slope of the roof of your car and the thinner edge is on the upward slope (The edges should make up the difference in the rooftop curvature). This insures maximum contact of rubber to the car for the proper secure fit. If you put them on backwards, like I did the first time, you can just remove the pads and switch them with the adjacent one on the same single rail system. Again, if they aren't fitting to the contours of the rooftop and leaving large gaps, you properly installed them backwards/wrong. ... show more

  • KIT3130 for Tesla Model S
Style: Kit 3130
I understand that 3130 only fits years 2012 to early 2015. It comes with 4 studs for the panaromic roof slots, 4 installation plates (which is bolted to 7603B and 7604B by using the bolts coming from the bars not from the kit), 4 rubber feet. It did the job, however I give 4 stars because there are gaps between the rubbers provided and Thule Aeroblade Edge bars. Such a kit customized for a specific car should not have such gaps. ... show more

  • Not too awful
The title of the review sounds pretty negative. Had a Toyota Prius and purchased a Thule roof rack which "grabs" the rain edge. That system is just terrible. Very hard to install, doesn't hold well. Hated it with a capital H. So when we bought a new car, I hesitated to purchase more Thule products. I will say the podium system for "closed" roof rails (2014 BMW X3)works reasonably well, fairly simple to install and uninstall and straight forward to add cross rails. The only negative so far is a lost cover for a podium. This cover is just decorative so I haven't replaced it. The cover is typical of marginal fit of Thule products I experienced with the Toyota rail system. At the cost of the system, Thule might want to spend a extra dollar and fix their OK but not great system. ... show more

  • So far it's holding up despite improper fitment
Style: Kit 5211
Feels pretty premium and was easy to install, however I don't know if I got a faulty one but it's impossible to have have the driver side in the correct position on my 2019 nissan altima, it hasn't move or anything but is nowhere the recommended position shown on the installation guide.
