Purchased the XL size. Fits & looks great on all my cars. Mounting requires 2 people. I had the same one in Europe, which proved itself worth of every penny after driving on autobans. Fuel consumption goes up, but by a very small margin. Fits a lot of stuff, has tie hooks/straps inside. Ships in a nicely cushioned carton container, includes 2 keys that are taped to the side. Shipment may be delayed, as was in my case - but well worth the wait. Two useful advices I could give - don't remove the original plastic covering from its surface. Tack it in & tape it, and it will server for a few trips as paint protection. ... show more

Tons of storage space with the XL, you could technically fit 3 grown adults in there and shut it! Perfect fit for the Subaru Ascent and I do not really hear any additional wind noise in the highway. Driven it through rain and everything inside stays dry. Easy to put on though might take 2 people to lift it to the roof. Once you crank it on, it’s stable as a boulder. Performance wise, gas mileage only mildy got affected losing about 2-3MPG, not too bad considering! Just careful with parking garages as this does add significant height to your vehicle. Update after received replacement: Just finished a 3000 miles road trip, the cargo box was very stable in highway speed, and didn't impact driving at all, however it did impact mileage by 1-2 mpg as expected. The box provided alot of cargo space, protected very well under heavy rain when parked and driving. You need to be gentle when opening and closing the top cover as the plastic material is flexible that if force applied, it could bent and potentially break. ----------------------------------------------- Arrived today and installed immediately, the thule box looks great and the installation was a breeze, very well designed. I inspected the box before putting it up, but I guess I missed a small crack in the top cover edge left to the lock area, and while installing the box, opening and closing the cover further damaged it. This is what I was afraid of, without this issue, this would’ve been a great purchase. I don’t think the crack was from the delivery, but rather the plastic edge of the cover had a sharp crack came from the manufacture. Called Thule warranty, they stated if it's within 30 days within the purchase, Amazon would handle the issue, then called Amazon customer service and worked out another new one for replacement. Overall experience with the purchase was great, just hope the replacement comes clean and don’t have to deal with the issue again. ... show more

Expensive, but worth every penny. Purchased the Thule Motion XT XXL glossy version for my 2022 Hyundai Palisade. Looks awesome on my vehicle. Was surprised how big it is - look at the pictures I included. (Note: We have it stored in our garage when not in use.) Very easy to install, all items needed for installation are included. Just need help loading it on top of vehicle, but after that it only takes 5-10 minutes to secure it properly by myself. Fits three of our large suitcases with no problem. It’s great that you can open it from both sides. Have used it on two trips already (a 2,000 mile round trip and a 600 mile round trip). Was able to go 75 mph on very windy highways - was so impressed how quiet it is, almost forgot I had it on my vehicle. We went through several dust storms during these trips and noticed the cargo box only had light scratches - can’t really see them unless you are right in front of it. Overall, gas consumption went down only 1 mpg. Highly recommended, I wish I would have purchased it earlier. FYI - I read reviews about the cargo box being damaged during shipment, the cardboard box was damaged, but I carefully inspected the cargo box and it has no damaged. Lastly, register it as soon as you receive it for warranty purposes. The serial number is in stickers inside of the cargo box. ... show more

I read many of the reviews about this product and it seemed that the biggest complaint revolved around shipping damage. When I received the box, it was carried into my garage by the delivery men and I inspected the box before accepting delivery. While there was some minor damage to the box, which I documented with my camera, it didn't appear to affect the Thule Cargo Box inside. I immediately opened the box and unpacked the contents. There were 2 keys and a package with the PowerClick mounting system and several straps for securing skis. I tested the open and close function on both sides of the box and it worked well with no hinge problems. Next I loaded the box onto my 2021 Honda Pilot. I secured the box to the factory cross bars and it fit as if made for my vehicle. It's easy to install and would be manageable alone if not for the bulk which makes it hard to get a grip for lifting. There was plenty of clearance for the rear door to swing up and the box does not protrude over the windshield. I drove around for several weeks with the empty box on top of the vehicle and did not notice any problems or noise even at speed (70 mph) despite having no load in the box. Mileage decreased a few miles per gallon and the box is now in my garage waiting for a trip. I gave this box a 5 star rating because it is stable, quiet, easy to install and has plenty of room. I don't have buyers remorse for getting the biggest cargo box around. I think I'm going to love this Thule for many years. You will too. ... show more
