In the city where I live the local shops charge between $180 and $225 to read the codes on any vehicle. Over the last 10 years, the shop that I take my vehicle to has charged me over $4,000 just to read the codes. It doesn't matter if I have a cheap code reader, as they use their super expensive code reader to validate what I have seen, nevertheless, I get charged. I decided to purchase this code reader because of its functionality and bidirectional communication. It has already saved me $800 in just one vehicle. What I was younger, I did all my own work on vehicles although not a Certified mechanic, it's not my first rodeo with tearing down and rebuilding an engine. This is an unbeatable product for the price. It will recognize all the modules in the vehicle and let you program replacement modules yourself. In my case, Ford wanted $1600 to replace and program a new ABS module for my truck. After buying this scanner and replacing the module myself I was done for $1300. Doesn’t do anything it says it supposed to and two days late for the window to return and it was the scanner that I thought it communicated with coolant system well had to take to a shop for the job to be completed and service department was no help at all
