    • Easy to set up, convenient
Was very easy to set up and install. The wall mount has the option to screw it into the wall but I opted to just use the 3M adhesive that comes on the back of the wall mount. I put it on the wall just above the actual light switches. The remote sticks to the mount via magnets. The magnets are the perfect strength, they hold the remote firmly in place but yet it is easy to pop the remote off the wall to keep on a nightstand etc. Setup in the app was easy and you can really customize what you want each button to do. My only complaint is that when I first walk into the room I have to hit the buttons a few times before they work. I’m guessing this is because the remote is in some kind of standby mode when not in use? I’m hooked up to a bridge on 1 gig high speed business internet at the house so I don’t think it’s a connectivity issue on my end. Despite this minor flaw I’m very happy I purchased this remote so I don’t have to fumble around with my phone every time I walk into a room. Will probably get hue bulbs + one of these switches in every room eventually ... show more

    • Is this for real?
I bought this to try out in one of my rooms to replace the Lutron switches that require a bridge because the bridge connection is SUPER finicky. I bought one to test it out and it’s AMAZING! I set it up yesterday with my most troublesome room and it took just a few minutes to get it set up to control the room and most of that setup time was me rereading the instructions three times scratching my head because it seemed too easy. Granted, I already had the Hue app with all the light bulbs assigned to that room. The setup was literally three easy steps. Open the app, scan the QR code, select the room and BAM! Done! I am buying these for every room in my house and getting rid of the stupid bridge! If you’re thinking of getting a switch to control your Hue lights, get this one. ... show more

Love this, my light switch is on opposite side of house, now I keep remote nearby and can turn on all lamps together instead of walking through dark to get to switch.

Works perfectly with a hub. Very convenient when some household members prefer switches. Without the hub, it refused to link with one of three new Hue bulbs that I had purchased around the same time.     • Yes it works without a bridge
Was setting up hue lights for client's kitchen, I have like 30+ hue lights at home so I have a bridge. The clients don't really care about the bridge they just wanted good lights so I was trying to pair the lights with the remote only. I got this v2 one because it specifically said it will work. At first try I couldn't get it to work because I was using the app to pair it. On the instruction it actually has the section showing how to pair without bridge and you just pair it by placing the remote close to the lightstrip or bulb and hold the button it will pair and work. We've recently begun our plunge into the rabbit hole with Phillips Hue lighting and I gotta say I love it. My husband is the techie, and I went in metaphorically kicking and screaming; but now I love it. The products are easy to use with the app and have saved us a ton of frustration remembering if we turned off lights and whatnot. Works well needed a switch for my guest bedroom. The switch appeared in the HUE app quickly and was quickly paired with my bulbs in the room. The 3M sticky tape has stayed on the wall for almost a year now without issue and I like the fact that the remote is magnetic.
