(36 inch model) My adventure began when my 31 year old gas cooktop blew up while I was standing at it. Once my heart started up again I closed the gas valve closed the cleaned up a mess. It’s surprising to me how many different cooktops around 36 inches there are with difference size cutout requirements. I narrowed it down to about 5 cooktops just so I wouldn’t have to saw granite. As there was not a single Amazon review previously for this model I skimmed right past it ....cause just too risky for me normally. I kept coming back to this unit for its combination of features, appearance, and price. Stainless steel, iron grates, good styling, and the safety system that automatically cuts off the gas if the flame goes out. It seemed stand-out at this price point....and it fit my cutout perfectly... ...So I rolled the dice and purchased it without a single review to read. I was prepared to feel like a sap when some funny junk arrived but it was just the opposite experience. Arrived in about 3 days. Packaged well and no dents or scratches. I would save all the old gas fittings and regulator from your old unit. This unit comes with a new regulator and one elbow but I had use one of the fittings off the old regulator. It works great. Knobs feel like they are probably die cast aluminum however they don’t feel too cheap or like plastic. Valves feel smooth. The stainless steel is thin gauge but the way it’s stamped gives it enough strength. When you turn the flame height all the way down the burners don’t flicker out, even if the air is disturbed. (I noticed some of the other cooktops at this price point had negative reviews on that issue. ) Can’t believe more people haven’t bought and reviewed this thing. Couldn’t be happier for the price. So I called the install guy ,he shows up cuts the counter and corner is bent on the unit pretty bad despite only a small rip in box.Be sure to check right away!!!. Now I am fighting with a robot to get replaced even after buying the insurance.(update) Item has now been replaced thanks to amazon and installed. We replaced our existing gas cooktop after nearly a decade. First we ignored thermomate as the price put it in the ‘cheaper’ category. However after trying a few other brands which were a nightmare to fit within the granite countertop hole, we chose this as the dimensions were apt. It fit like a charm and worked perfectly after the initial few mins of running gas continuously. Only wrinkle was I couldn’t tighten the gas pipe completely and hence had to call in our gas utility technician to plug the leak. Overall happy with the product. ... show more

The manual says to hold down the knob for 1 - 2 secs. after the burner is lit - well not on mine, closer to 5 or 6 secs. before the gas stays on. This, I believe, is due to the automatic shut off feature - it takes a bit of time for the heat sensor to heat up so that the gas will stay on. To me it is quite annoying. Other than that, it was pretty easy to install, it looks nice, easy to clean since most of the burner components come off except maybe the knobs. It is well sealed up so when a liquid cleaner is used it does not drip inside of the stove onto electrical components causing a short circuit as happened in my previous stove. ... show more

I just built a new house. The outdoor gas burners that the appliance place sent was the wrong item. I didn't have time to wait on them to rectify the issue, so I ordered this as it looked decent and would arrive the next day. It's perfect for the space, was easy to install, and works well. For around $200, if it quits in a year or two then I'll have my money's worth (over the $800 set that the appliance place tried to sell me). I realized I had not cooked in my oven in over two years! Sold the free standing oven and decided I really only needed two burners. I researched the BTU output of every burner on every cooktop I could find. I wanted stainless to install it in a restaurant style steel table. The large burner is over 9000 BTU... the most of any small cooktops as well as most large ones. The small burner is around 5000 BTU... the common BTUs for all burners this size. Both can sizzle butter in less than a minute. Instructions were worthless... hire the install unless you really know what you are doing. ... show more

So I feel we gave this product a fair trial. The first one we got had a faulty regulator, it stripped out real easy. The exchange process was super easy (thank you). The stove top is really beautiful, lightweight, and has so much potential! So we got our second one in, got a professional to install it (150.00) and i was so excited. However, my hpuse smelled like gas upon first use. The plumber said it was because he has to bleed the lines. I aired out my house (because it was overwhelming) so then it was time to try my new stovetop and I WAS SO EXCITED!) Whelp, this is where the very helpful review about the ignition issues comes into play.... it took several seconds (6-10) for a flame to appear. Once you let the knob go though, the flame would go out. It would take 2 or 3 times to actually get it to light. And gas would still keep flowing. The double flame in the center only lit. It would come on the 2nd time you lit the burner. I am not inept, ive been cooking on a gas stove for a decade now. We promptly took the stove out, bought a more reliable brand name and my husband had it installed within 30 minutes, sealed and everything. We were cooking with NO GAS SMELL in no time. We didnt need to 'bleed the lines'. I can leave my home and go to sleep at night not stressing out about whether my house was going to blow up. BUYER BEWARE. ... show more

It’s easy to install and easy to clean. Takes for ever to turn on it says to hold down for 2 seconds and then let go and flames turn off. I have to do it multiple times in order for the flames to stay on. Do not scrub it or else it will darken and leave an ugly scratch. Not happy specially after the first one they sent me was damaged and even though it was replaced still not happy. ... show more
