The media could not be loaded. This heated blanket has been such a great addition to my home! The holiday-themed design is adorable, and both the Sherpa and quilted sides are incredibly soft and cozy. It heats up super quickly and has plenty of customizable settings, making it perfect for chilly evenings. I love how lightweight and easy it is to carry from my bed to the sofa, so I’m always comfortable no matter where I am. My boyfriend loves it just as much as I do—he keeps stealing it when we watch movies together! My parents were so impressed when they visited that they’re planning to buy one for themselves too. I got a king size, which comes with two controllers that warm each side separately, they also have their own plugs so if you dont have a lightbar you'll be tieing up an entire outlet with this blanket. Its a lot of cord, definately some cable management is needed. Functionality The heating of this blanket seems pretty even I havent had any issues with it coming on, even after I washed it. It only takes a minute or two to get toasty, super nice. Even when its not on it keeps my bed nice and warm, but my flannel sheets might help with that. One thing to keep in mind is if its bunched up the bunched or folded parts can get a little more toasty than the rest, but it hasnt been worrying in my 2 ish months of ownership. Controllers The controllers are easy to use, I havent really figured out how to 'keep on'. The directions are pretty vague. But a couple hours before I fall asleep works fine for me. Washing I have washed the blanket (my cat hurled on it super fun). It was easy to wash. Took forever to dry. I turned it around and put it back in about 4 times at 40 minute intervals at the recommanded temperature. Its definately best if you have a big dryer for the king size for the air flow. Fabric and size Its super soft, one smooth soft side and one fluffy sherpa-like soft side. I personally savor the smoother side, just personal preference. I have a king size bed and the blanket covers it fully with no issue. I kind of wish it was a couple inches bigger for more of an overhang but its not a huge problem for me, it might be if I had a partner. The thickness is nice and it has a good weight to it, definately covers the weighted blanket category. I would recommend this product! It's fantastic! ... show more

    • Unreliable and Poor Support
After my Thermee electric blanket failed to produce sufficient heat, the company brushed off my requests for a new blanket under the 5-year product warranty. I like the blanket and toyed with the idea of buying another, but reading the many unfavorable reviews on Amazon gave me pause. Instead, I paid $30 for a new controller directly from the Shavel website believing that it was likely the cause of my problem, but found that the heat output was still minimal after 30 minutes on the highest heat setting (H). I was surprised because the blanket initially gave off plenty of heat at high heat settings. It suggested there was something wrong with the blanket itself. I measured the resistance of the blanket’s heating wire loop to be 118.8 ohms, and the resistance of the thermistor wire loop at 623 ohms, so neither wire was broken. When I put 120 volts AC across the heating loop, it drew 0.92A or 110 watts, 10 watts less than the controller’s power rating of 120 watts. The blanket uses a PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) wire thermistor, the resistance of which increases with temperature. The controller uses the resistance of the thermistor wire to regulate voltage on the heating wire corresponding to the heat setting. At the highest heat setting (H), I observed unstable power output from the controller as displayed on a Kill-A-Watt meter. But when I applied 120 volts AC directly across the heating loop, I measured a steady 0.92 amps (110 watts), and I could feel heat build in the blanket as it did originally when set to the highest setting. Clearly the controller was not outputting sufficient voltage to heat the blanket. Convinced that the controller was faulty, I ordered a new controller from Shavel. It exhibited the same behavior (minimal heat at the highest temperature setting (H). That pointed to the possibility that the thermistor wire was the root cause of my problems, most likely its resistance being out of spec (due to bending stress?). I was tempted to purchase a new Thermee blanket to measure the thermistor loop resistance to confirm or disprove my theory when the new controller stopped working altogether (no display). At that point I decided to abandon all attempts to get a working Thermee blanket, despite its many positive features, and also due to the lack of response from the company. This is an awesome blanket I love how they have many styles and different sizes to pick from. The set up was very easy and i appreciate the instructions manual. It heats up very nice and you can adjust the temperature and even put a timer on it ! It’s a thick blanket and it has two sides which is very nice because it’s comfortable on both ends. It does not suffocate you and i appreciate how it keeps me warm at night truly a great find 🙏 ... show more

    • Very soft, cozy and warm. I love it!
I absolutely love this blanket. It heats up quickly, no need to turn it on 15 minutes before going to bed. The fleece is thick and yummy and so soft. I think that the fleece is what makes the whole blanket heat evenly warm. The top fabric is lovely and very soft, both it texture and color. My husband mistakenly got in bed one night between the fleece and the top sheet. He wanted to stay there because it was so cozy. My only objection is the controller. It doesn’t stay lit once you select the temperature and time. In order for you to see it during the night you need to push one of the buttons. Once you are familiar with the placement of the on/off, temp and time buttons, it isn’t a huge deal. The controller needs to be reset each night. It doesn’ have a memory for the previous setting. This is the nicest electric blanket I have ever had, and we have had many. If and when I ever need another electric blanket, I will definitely reorder one of these. ... show more
