Wow. I’ve used heating blankets for years...this one takes the cake! First, it is thick and soft and I don’t feel the internal wires as much as some other blankets. It looks well made and very nice. The plug to the blanket HAS PRONGS! So it won’t come out unless you want it to! Genius! Also, you can program the temperature AND the shutoff time, up to 12 hours! So great! I can sleep all night and not worry about it turning off, I can set it to turn off automatically in an allotted time in case I forget! While it is very warm and my husband thinks perfect, I do wish it got very hot (my liking is way to hot for most people). Still, it does the job very well. I love it. The heating FAILED after 6 months of use, first on one side, then shortly thereafter on the second side. I followed the manufacturer's electronic *reset* directions but it did not resolve the failure. My husband also attempted a reset. The blanket was NOT abused (pets, children, washer), it merely stopped working.... on a very cold week. Bottom line: this blanket is an expensive piece of junk. There pros and cons to this electric blanket. Good things - The extra width is great. The warming wires actually covered the full top width of the bed (split king) unlike another electric blanket we tried which the warmed area stopped about 6 inches short on both sides of the mattress. The blanket is thick and warm. Also like that it only has10 heat settings. Not so great - the controllers definitely need a redesign. The buttons are not easily understood, and once the light goes off you don’t know if the blanket is ‘on’ or ‘off’, or what temperature it is set. Color gray is a flat, stone gray; I would have liked a more attractive color, but I chose it because gray was $10 cheaper. Overall the heating surface deserves a ‘5’, but the controller takes it down to a 4. ... show more

I have loved my cozy blanket for a few years now. It has consistently delivered warm comfort without any problems. The fabric has remained soft, the wires haven’t bunched, I have washed it numerous times without any deterioration - dry on a low heat to prevent damage. And then I gave my son a puppy. Like all rotten puppies, she chewed the electric cord. No damage to the pup-monster but now one side of the blanket doesn’t heat. It’s the husband’s side - amazing that. I was so delighted to find the Shavel company provides very reasonably priced replacements! Very easy to order, arrived within a week. Exactly the same. IN THE WEEK WE HAVE HAD IT, THE BLANKET HAS BEEN ALMOST PERFECT. IT IS VERY HIGH QUALITY. WE HAVE USED CHEAPER BLANKETS OVER THE YEARS BUT ALL OF THEM NEVER CONSISTENTLY PROVIDED THE WARMTH THIS BLANKET DOES. IT IS LIGHT YET VERY COMFORTABLE. IT IS ALSO VERY EASY TO MAKE THE BED WITH IT AS IT SMOOTHS OUT WELL. THE ONE DRAWBACK WHICH IS THE REASON FOR ONLY FOUR STARS IS THAT EACH CONTROL HAS TO BE SEPARATELY PLUGGED INTO AN ELECTRICAL OUTLET. WITH CLOCKS, LIGHTS, ETC. ALSO PLUGGED IN, THERE IS USUALLY NO ROOM FOR THE ADDITIONAL PLUG. OTHER BLANKETS WITH DUAL CONTROLS USE ONLY ONE PLUG AND THERE IS NO REASON THAT THIS ONE CAN'T. LATER. THE CONTROLLERS ARE AWFUL. THEY DO NOT LIGHT UP ONCE THEY ARE SET. THEY HAVE TO BE RESET EVERY TIME THE BLANKET IS TURNED ON. I remember having an electric blanket when I was younger. It got HOT and you had to remember to turn it off each morning. This is not that blanket! Thermee is a more gradual warmth and it has a timer (with multiple settings) so you can have the perfect amount of warmth. Make sure to read the directions and pre-heat the bed before you get under the covers. I also love the weight of the blanket.     • Good blanket but poor customer service when one of the controls failed
On March 16, 2024, I received a message from Shavel, the company selling these blankets, in response to my request to fulfill the 5 year warranty by replacing one of the controls that was no longer working. I was told that a replacement was on its way. It's now 4/3/24, and I just received notice that the replacement now has a usps tracking number but hasn't been shipped yet. Very frustrating for my husband not to have heat on his side of our bed all this time and for them just to be preparing to ship the new control. May 17, 2024 I need to change my comments here. Since then, I received the replacement, but it was also faulty, so Shavell has replaced the blanket with new controls. Everything works now, and though it took some time, I'm delighted that the company upheld its 5 year warranty. Bravo! And, yes, we love this blanket.
