I am enjoying this blanket. Pros: This blanket has some weight to it and is not thin as some that I looked at. This blanket heats up nicely. Cons: The lights on the controls do not stay lit, they go off after a bit, which works because they are bright. But I would rather have them less bright and stay on when the blanket is on. I want to be able to tell that it is on and at what setting whenever I look at the control. I do not like having to find the place to push in the dark to see what my setting is, it is to hard to find. I am thinking that I will put some self-sticking velcro on the main push area to help me find it in the dark. That being said, all other blankets I looked at were very thin, and I wanted a blanket that felt like a blanket, not just a sheet with wires in it. I would like the controls changed, but the blanket itself is great. ... show more

    • Almost Perfect
My husband and I love the weight of this blanket... we're still using it in May without the heat on. It's very soft and stays in place. No sliding off the bed. Our only complaint is the temperature control device.... the actual on/off temp controller, not the temp of the blanket itself. Who thought it would be a good idea to have a dark blue temp control, with flat digital controls and no backlighting? My husband has vision problems and simply could not find the heat controls at night. I ended up putting stick-on raised buttons for the on/off switch which turns on backlighting for 40 seconds. We are very happy with the blanket itself, but the control settings are ridiculous for night time use. ... show more

    • Doesn't get very warm and controllers not backlit
Con's: After all the years of designers making electric blankets they should have added a couple more feet to the cord that goes under the bed so it doesn't show and not stark white in color. The majority of people do not have white floors. Make it a light brown/beige color like most carpet or hardwood floors. Also the wires for the controller should come out the back so the numbers are facing the user. smh Difficult to wash a king size since it's so thick as a comforter. It doesn't heat up nearly as warm as any electric blanket I've had over many years. Programming the controller is sketchy. They need a button that actually says "Pre-Heat" then hold the memory number of what you want the rest of the night. One night it shut off and I woke up cold having to turn it back on. There are literally no instructions in the booklet that comes with the blanket. I would give it more stars if it heat up warmer and the controllers were improved. ... show more

    • Good blanket but the controllers... not so much..
First off... This thing gets warm... really warm. It is a heavy almost quilt-like blanket. I like a blanket with weight... others might find it too heavy. The controllers are the problem. For starters... they are blue, not white?... Secondly, the wires are about a foot short for a king size bed (another reviewer commented on this and I should have listened). Additionally, the controllers themselves are way too light. They do not sit flat because the weight of the wires actually tips them backwards. It is a bit of a wrestling match to press the controls. And finally... the controllers themselves are a bit awkward. The buttons are a bit clunky. There is no back-light to let you know what setting you are on should you wake up in the middle of the night and look to adjust the temperature. There is also therefore no way to know if it is on (or off) without pushing a button. This seems trivial, but it is actually pretty annoying. We love the blanket. It is thick and warm... The controls... not so much. With a few improvements, this would be a great electric blanket. ... show more

Got this blanket today to replace the Sunbeam Luxurious Velvet Plush King Heated Blanket I returned. This blanket is much better and almost perfect. It's thick and made with fabric which won't slide around. The two controllers are independently wired - a nice feature. My only complaint is I bought this for a California King (slightly longer than a regular king). The web description shows it a Cal king or king, but the package is marked 'king'. As a result, the blanket is a little shorter than it should be. Also, check the prices for various colors. I bought a Sage colored spread and it was $100 cheaper than Tan. Edit: After using a couple of days I'm very happy with the way this blanket stays in place on the bed and doesn't bunch up like the Sunbeam blanket. It's very comfortable and I sleep well. A small minor complaint is the the controllers always default to the lowest heat and 10 hour operation. Being able to change the default would be nice, but the minor inconvenience is worth the overall comfort at night. Recommended. Edit (2/2/17): I had an infant mortality on one of the controllers. I sent an email early Saturday then on Sunday decided to order a replacement from Amazon. Monday I talked with Linda. She said they stand by their products. I had to fill out the warranty card which was emailed to me (apparently I threw it out) and email it in. She's shipping me a new controller. Excellent service! ... show more

    • Works well but is heavy
Size: King Color: Lilac
Works well. Issue is that the blanket material is thicker and heavier than anticipated. We almost always turn it on early, let it and the bed get good and warm, and then turn it off when actually getting into bed for the night. Very comfortable to start, but in a short time, the bed becomes too warm. This blanket would be warm and effective even if not electric. So it almost always ends up getting kicked off down over the foot of the bed for the rest of the night. For sleeping in a consistently very cold room, it likely would be great. Controls are mixed blessing. Blue light goes out soon after blanket turned on. That's good because no distracting light on bedside table, but bad when you want to adjust the blanket in any way, like turn it off. Trick is you need to touch one of the heat level or time buttons to reactivate the blue light in the window and then you can see what you are doing. We were unhappy with the heat function of our old Sunbeam blanket, but it was fairly thin and no problem turning the heat off and just keeping it on the bed for the night. Always trade-offs! ... show more
