  • Emotional Roller Coaster
Format: Kindle
The Wedding Plan is the tenth book in Kathi Daley’s Tess and Tilly Cozy Mystery series. I love all of the wonderful characters as well as the charming setting. Once again, Ms. Daley has provided readers with a clean, fun read, with caring and compassionate characters, intriguing mysteries, and adorable fur babies. The author’s smooth writing style flows at a steady pace, the characters are three dimensional and affable, and the storyline is well-plotted and interesting. I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy reading well-crafted cozy mysteries. Until recently, Tess Thomas and her dog, Tilly, delivered mail in the small community of White Eagle, Montana, but now, Tess is working full-time for Brady Baker, the local veterinarian and shelter owner, at the animal shelter and is in charge of overseeing the basic training for the dogs and placement of the shelter’s residents in forever homes. A major expansion of the shelter is underway that will include permanent housing for hard to place animals, and search and rescue training. When Tess learns that a ten-year-old boy has gone missing, she volunteers to join the search and is present when one of the search and rescue dogs makes a gruesome discovery. Unknown to most of their family and friends, Tess and Tony Marconi are planning their wedding, and Tony’s grandmother, who lives in Italy, is planning to visit them. Tess and her brother, Mike, are looking forward to meeting with their dad, who they once thought to be deceased, and hope to get at least a few answers to their many questions. ... show more

  • The Wedding Plan earns 5/5 Tattoos...Engaging Fun!
Format: Kindle
Tess Thomas has resigned from her mail carrier position she’d had for ten years, and made a leap of faith by going full-time at the local reinvented animal shelter and going forward to be an active member of a search and rescue team. Tilly is too old to be trained as her S&R partner, so seeking a new, younger, dog is on the “must have” list. Will Tilly, her Golden Retriever sidekick, be content with the changes? Tess volunteered to help with the search for a missing ten-year-old as one who knows the area well, but luck has been elusive. Lizzy and her rescue dog Poppy join Tess in her designated area, and Poppy barks and heads off seemingly having picked up a scent. They follow. However, it isn’t the boy they find; it is an adult who appears to have been purposely dismembered, and like a puzzle, some parts are missing. But Tess recognizes the tattoo on the arm as one she saw years ago on a man who her father knew, a man who died long ago. The missing boy was found safe, so the search was a success in that way, but this body looks like murder, and once again may be linked to Tess and Mike’s father...will they ever get complete answers? Page-Turner! Kathi Daley has transformed her Tess and Tilly Cozy Mystery from a mail carrier to animal activist and search and rescue trainee. This side story offers an interesting book club topic dealing with the impact on our “fur friends” when humans make life changing decisions. Through the ten-book series, the mystery surrounding Tess’s dad has slowing evolved, but this book has it as a key compelling part of this drama, and suspicions, facts, and details are revisited. Kathi Daley’s engaging writing style is descriptive and always includes everyday life to better understand and relate to her characters. The dialogue is informative with conversations to update details about the murder investigation, victims, and various theories, but also to explore ins and outs of the animal shelter, rescuing injured and abandoned cats and dogs, training dogs, introducing a new puppy into the family dynamic, and...Shhhh! personal secrets. ... show more

Good story. I like plot twists and some unanswered questions. Some of this was sad. Love all the emotions involved.

The Wedding Plan Tess and Tilly, Book #10 Kathi Daley 5 Stars Synopsis: If you love small towns, endearing relationships, food, animals, and a touch of murder, you will love this mystery series set in the small town of White Eagle Montana. In book 10 in the series, Tess and Tony plan a secret wedding ceremony, Nona plans a visit, and Tess and Mike plan a face to face meeting with their father. (Goodreads) Review: The characters are well developed and well rounded. Tess and Tony are perfect for each other and I enjoy getting to spend time with them. Mike and Bree are having trouble starting a family, and Tess wants to be there for them and help them as much as she can. The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and these descriptions pulled me into the story from the very beginning. The mystery was intriguing and kept me engaged throughout the entire book. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. There is so much going on for Tess and Tony and do not want to miss out. ... show more

  • Turning Point For Series
Format: Kindle
Spoiler Free Review: This is the 10th book in this series and pretty much a turning point. Up to this point the main character and her dog were postal workers in rural Montana. With this book the main character is moving toward a career in dog training and search and rescue. She also is getting married. So a lot of plot lines tied up in this one. It also looks as though the long term plot involving her father is being closed out. Kathi always writes a clean book that is well edited and well plotted. This one while not really gory is a bit more graphic in the description of the murder that is to be solved. So for traditional cozy fans it might push the genre just a bit. If you have been following the series a lot is answered. If you are new to the series you might want to back up and read the earlier books first. ... show more

  • Okay, but not great.
Format: Kindle
The story was not developed smoothly. I enjoyed the first third of the typical story line, and was disappointed in the writing.

  • Started Good
Format: Kindle
I started out liking this book for the most part, but by the end I just felt let down. I know the author has further developments in the ongoing plotlines in store, so I will continue reading. I recommend that these books be read in order, but the author does a good job of summarizing previous happenings for those of us who miss a book here and there. ... show more
