I got this to replace a very soft mattress that people were just enduring. It's for a room my son's nurses sleep in occasionally. The day after I got it I knocked on the door and peeked in. The nurse was still in bed so I asked her how she slept. She laughed and said she had already texted her mom to see if she'd buy her one. Best mattress I’ve ever owned as an adult which is like my third mattress. I cover it with a cotton bed spread blanket to mute the grid feel. I’ve battled with insomnia in the past and partially due to this mattress I’ve since gotten the best sleep ever at my home. EDIT: Update after 1 year. The mattress can be a heat sponge so I can't fully recommend it to anyone that sleeps warm. After about 5 hours of sleep I would wake up warm, wide awake but comfortable and thirsty. Get up, walk around for 15-30 minutes then go back to bed. I realized finally it was due to the mattress building up and retaining heat throughout the night. I've since gotten a chilipad sleeping mat to help, and I've since settled back into sleeping bliss, after tuning the temperature profile of the chilipad and pairing with a thick full cotton mattress cover. ... show more

THIS MATTRESS IS A GAME CHANGER. My husband and I have opposite preferences in bed firmness and such, which makes mattress shopping difficult for our price range. We decided to try this and I’m not sure what type of crazy magical unicorn fluff they have in the mattress itself but we are BOTH extremely comfortable, in any position (he’s a side sleeper and I sleep on my stomach) within two minutes of being on it. In the middle of the night, if one of us has to get up, the other doesn’t feel any disturbance. I sleep better and my hips feel SOOO much better waking up now. I cannot recommend this enough! The ONLY con about it is that once it’s set up, it’s HEAVIER THAN THE CORE OF THE EARTH to move, but with two people and a lot of laughter you can accomplish that quickly enough too. ... show more

I was really on the fence with this purchase and went strictly by the reviews. Never sat on one before. I purchased the base model for a g, g. It is super comfortable. I weigh 200 pounds and I never get close to weighing through it to the bottom. It’s actually quite firm, feels nice and I have been getting a good nights sleep with my Purple mattress. I almost got Casper and another brand but I am very glad that I finally purchased this brand. You are getting a fine mattress at a reasonable cost point. Costco also had a foam style mattress but this is better by far. The grids on top don’t feel like grids at all. If you didn’t see them you would never know they are there. I think that if you stay with the base model as I did, you will get a really good value. It doesn’t look or feel cheap at all. It feels every bit more expensive than it actually is. I am super happy that I got mine and can recommend this to you as well. ... show more

We purchased this mattress, excited by its promises of superior quality, but from the very first night, it was a disaster. My lower back pain worsened, and my husband—who had never had back pain—began experiencing it too. We tried to give it time, thinking we just needed to adjust to the mattress and its unusual waffle-like design, but things only got worse. After a week of sleepless nights and increasing pain, we decided to return it. I started the return process through Amazon, but they directed me to the seller, Purple. That’s when the nightmare began. Purple provided a long list of instructions, including contacting their customer service, starting a new email thread, and even handwriting my name and order number on paper, placing it on the mattress, and taking a photo. They also told me I couldn’t return the mattress until I’d used it for 21 days to “allow my body time to adjust.” Those three weeks were torture—every morning, I woke up feeling like my legs were disconnected from my back, and my husband had to start using a foam roller just to cope with the pain. After those excruciating 21 days, I submitted the handwritten note and jumped through all their hoops, only to be told a third-party company would contact me for pickup. Days passed with no contact, and I had to follow up with Purple almost daily. Eventually, they claimed the delay was because the third-party company had my email wrong—ridiculous, since I’d sent them my correct information multiple times. When the company finally reached out, things got even worse. It wasn’t a professional delivery service but a junk removal company. That’s right—the $1,000 mattress we had used for just six nights was now trash. They required me to write “TRASH” all over the mattress, take photos, and submit them for approval. Then they demanded more photos—this time of the room where the mattress was located. The process felt endless and absurd. When the junk removal team arrived, they loaded the mattress onto a truck filled with discarded mattresses bound for the dump. It was shocking and wasteful to see such an expensive product treated this way. Even after the pickup, I had to wait another 3–10 days to get my refund. The entire experience was a nightmare—frustrating, wasteful, and unnecessarily complicated. If you’re considering this mattress, think twice. Go to a store, test one out, and avoid the painful ordeal we went through. This was a waste of time, money, and resources. ... show more
