I'm on my third child and with my other two I developed mastitis later on in breastfeeding. With this baby I had what is called "rusty pipe syndrome" where one of my milk ducts was I guess blown and blood was getting into my milk supply. I started using these along with nipple cream and within just a few days the milk duct was healed and there was no more blood. Also I have been using these consistently as I like that they provide a barrier between my clothes and nipples so the nipple cream isn't getting on my bra. These have helped keep my nipples from cracking and becoming raw. The only thing I don't like about them is that it makes me look like I have very large nipples when wearing them as they can be seen through my nursing bra. This is just a silly complaint though and I don't think anything could be changed to fix that. Overall I feel they are worth the money.

The silver nipple shield is a great product. Except one arrived damaged and doesn't fit the nipple properly. The one that does fit is great! Healed up a cracked and irritated nipple in a day. Would have been nice if they weren't so flimsy and thin.

These were a life savor in the early stages of breastfeeding to help with nipple soreness. It is not recommended to wear full time as it can cause yeast infections but eases so much discomfort when needed.

This product undoubtedly saved my breastfeeding journey. My baby had a tongue and lip tie and had lots of difficulty getting a wide latch. We saw lactation consultants multiple times, but ultimately he just needed time to grow and work on his latch. It took about 6 weeks until he started feeding better and I honestly think that without these, I would not have been able to keep breastfeeding. It was so painful and I was so sore, but keeping these on between feeds kept me going. I would have my husband put them in the freezer or in a bowel of ice while I was feeding, then pop them on as soon as I was done. I used these day and night until about 8 weeks until his latch was improved and I had healed. Don’t wait!!! Get these and then if you don’t end up needing them because your baby latches amazing immediately, you can return them. But you don’t want to be in excruciating pain waiting for these to be delivered! Note - my LC did tell me using these all the time (especially with nipple butter) can increase your risk for thrush so make sure to keep things clean and dry (yourself and the silverettes!).
