I bought these shirts to provide SPF for my spouse because we were traveling to Mexico, Belize, and Honduras and would be out in the sun. He is a skin cancer survivor, so we make sure to protect ourselves from the harmful UV rays. As you can see, I borrowed one of the shirts for a day in Mexico, and I can report: This shirt is so soft and comfortable to wear, I am keeping it! Yes, it's too big for me, but when you're exploring out of doors and don't have to look like a fashion model, this is no problem. The color is fabulous. And I love the lightweight fabric which did not make me feel too hot even though I was completely covered up in warm, sunny weather. Designed to shield and cool, it sounded like the perfect tool. But here's the rub, the twist in my sunny tale: first wear, first raise of my arm, and... oh, the fail. A hole, right there, under the arm, where fabric should have been firm and calm. Not from wear, not from tear, but appearing from thin air. This shirt, a marvel in theory, fell short in the durability category. A simple lift of an arm, and the magic was gone, leaving me to ponder on what went wrong.
