  • Genuinely life-changing
I've always loved makeup, but in recent months, my undereyes started really red and irritated after taking my makeup off at the end of the day. The makeup itself never gave me a problem, just taking it off, so I started experimenting with different makeup removal products to find something my eyes will tolerate. I didn't have the highest expectations, but I had heard of the Makeup Eraser before and I did like the idea of a reusable product that was also gentle, effective, and (if you get the silver-infused version) anti-microbial. Plus it looked super soft, which is always a plus for me. So after wearing a full face of makeup (waterproof products included), I soaked it in hot/warm water and WOW it really did remove everything. I had tried makeup wipes, micellar water, different cleansing balms, coconut oil (ew), etc., but this was the first product in a long time that didn't irritate/cloud up my eyes or leave my face feeling unbearably greasy. Now I can enjoy makeup again knowing that it won't hurt or take forever to take off. Plus it's durable enough to chuck in the laundry with the rest of my clothes! No need to gingerly hand-wash it in the sink or air-dry it all night. My only complaint is that I wish they made multi-packs of this size. This "pro" size is big enough to take off a full face of heavy makeup without running out of space on the cloth. Selling a multi-pack of this size would allow for removing heavier makeup multiple times before needing to do laundry again. As far as I can tell, though, they only sell multi-packs of the smaller sizes, and I'm not sure if those are big enough for more than just my eye makeup. They are a little expensive, hence why I only bought one to start with, but I'm stocking up on these now and their reusability will no doubt pay for itself. Thanks for changing my life. ... show more

  • Soft and cleans the face
Color: Queen Purple
Easy to wash, soft on the skin, cleans makeup off easily, doesn't absorb water quickly, but once wet does the job to wipe off makeup. Good size and doesn't feel heavy, bought another for travel since the price for it and what it does is worth it.

  • Yep, the reviews are legit.
Color: Original Pink
Amazingly effective. I don’t wear makeup all the time, often because I hate taking it off at night. I’m now wearing makeup more than ever because of how easily my Makeup Eraser takes it off. I will second what other reviewers have said: get it sopping wet, with the warmest water you can stand, then add more water the second it’s not dripping wet. To get it wet enough, you’re going to want to make sure there aren’t any spots of lighter pink left; keep letting it absorb water if all of it isn’t dark pink. It will take a bit for it to get this wet. Reviewers who say it wrecked their skin were definitely not getting the cloth wet enough, because when it’s not crazy wet, you do feel the fibers against your skin, and I can imagine it being rough if you used it that way constantly. If you feel the fibers rubbing against your skin, get it wetter. When the cloth is wet enough, it’s so easy for me to get the makeup off that it almost seems to be melting off my face by magic...it’s almost spooky. I generally cradle the cloth with my other hand when I’m taking off my makeup, to keep it from being heavy and swinging as it hangs down, and also to prevent it from losing more water as it takes off the makeup. Other reviewers have said you can get oodles of microfiber cloths and use them for this purpose for much cheaper, with the same effect. I’m sure you can, but it’s wonderful to have a dedicated cloth just for your makeup. The tag even says “Makeup Eraser” on it, so others in your household have no excuse for thinking it’s a dishcloth or washcloth, especially if you get it in pink or another bright color. I think its odd shape helps prevent this confusion, too. One reason I’m glad I went with this cloth instead of a generic microfiber cloth is that one side of it has fibers that are shorter, presumably designed with the optimal length to take off makeup, and the other side has fibers of a longer length that are meant to exfoliate your skin, if desired (at least, according to included instructions). As with many other reviewers, I just use one area of the cloth at a time and can use it with at least a week’s worth of makeup that way before washing. Often longer for me, since I generally just wear eye makeup/mascara. The instructions say you can use cleanser or soap with the cloth if you want, but I don’t—there is no need for more than water. I bought two Makeup Erasers so I always have one clean when the other’s in the wash. You’re supposed to wash them in hot water, and they can go through the dryer, so there’s no need to babysit them as delicates. The instructions say it doesn’t matter which detergent or fabric softener you use, with the latter described as optional. I wash mine in a mesh garment bag so I can find it easier in the wash. In a pinch, I’ve even washed it by hand in the sink using liquid hand soap and a bit of scrubbing, though it’s much simpler to just throw it in the washer with a load of towels. I truly only wish I’d bought a Makeup Eraser sooner. Just buy one already. Better yet, buy two. So, SO freaking worth it. :) —- 2026 EDIT: One note of caution. Something I found difficult to find in reviews when I first purchased my Makeup Eraser is whether it is effective in removing waterproof mascara. I went through a phase when I wore waterproof mascara, and I will freely admit that it was a nightmare trying to remove it with my Makeup Eraser. I tried using eye makeup remover and even cleanser with the Eraser, but it still barely budged. Not wearing other kinds of waterproof makeup, I can’t say whether those will come off easily or not, but the Makeup Eraser is definitely ineffective at removing waterproof mascara. On a related note, the only reason I started using waterproof mascara is that I have very oily eyelids and constantly have raccoon eyes when wearing the regular, non-waterproof kind. After I decided enough was enough with going through disposable wipes for the waterproof mascara, I looked for alternative options that would work with my Makeup Eraser again. I’d never heard of “tubing” mascara before, but the Thrive Causemetics kind came up after some googling, and I figured I might as well try it out. I used their “Liquid Lash Extensions Tubing Mascara.” To my utter disbelief, the tubing mascara literally did not smudge one iota, yet it slides right off with my Makeup Eraser. If you believe, like I did, that wearing waterproof mascara is your cross to bear, I’d highly suggest trying out tubing mascara so you can still use your Makeup Eraser and not destroy your eyes from intensive scrubbing. I will also say there are tons of mascaras on Amazon that look like the Thrive Causemetics mascara, and they are ALL knockoff brands, even with their shady claims and buzzwords to the contrary—Thrive sells only on their own website. Just buy the stuff directly from Thrive and deal with the shipping cost if you want their exact tubing mascara. There’s no shortcut. ... show more

  • I’m so in love!!!!
Color: Queen Purple
One night while taking my makeup off with a name brand wipe, my face started to burn. A brand I had used for years. The redness, burning and swelling didn’t go away. My Dr. told me to stop everything and slowly introduce to find the cause. I stopped the wipes immediately but needed something to remove my makeup and didn’t want to go back to using Vaseline. Let me tell you, this towel is my absolute favorite. Wet with warm water and the makeup just melts away to the point my skin is squeaky clean. I use a mild dermatologist approved face wash to clean it and hang dry. PERFECT!!!!!!!! ... show more

  • Works and has a cute pattern
Color: Puppy
I like it for the price it takes most of my make up off in a couple wipes. The one thing that I don’t like about it was that it doesn’t always take my waterproof mascara off. If I use a little make up remover with it though it works great! It’s super soft and easy to use as well.

  • Best makeup removal ever!!
Color: Apricot
Takes makeup off SO easily and gentle, it's incredible. My face actually feels clean after. I recently forgot it while traveling and had to use makeup wipes for the first time in months, and it was the worst. I don't know how I ever used them daily - I'm never switching back! My initial draw was the eco-friendliness (a huge plus!), but it's also genuinely the better method for makeup removal. Been using this brand for several years now and cannot recommend enough! ... show more

  • Cloth has lasted 5 years!
Color: Queen Purple
I’ve had two of these cloths for more than FIVE years and they still work perfectly. They’re good size, wash easily, clean well, but don’t drag my skin and I love the look. They have held up so well, I was shocked to find I’d had them so long. I use them every day highly recommend!

  • Crazy little cloth that actually works like they said it would...who would have thought?!
This product really does work. I had watched youtube videos and read reviews and thought this can't possibly work like they are showing. It's a darn wash cloth made out of blanket material! And seriously.... o.O ....how often do things like this actually work? It's so gimmicky! LOL....I finally just bit the bullet and ordered....and now I'm wishing I would have ordered it sooner. I do believe that in order to get this to work like it should you need to do what the directions tell you. When they say to drench it you really need to drench it and I'll tell you why. I tried this 2 different ways one with it wrung out and one with it drenched. Here is the "Wrung out test"...treating it just like a wash cloth: I had a harder time with it wrung out because the fabric wants to hold on to your skin and as you buff in circular motions or even just swipe/wipe there is a lot less give and it's harder to move on your face. This is ESPECIALLY true with the eye area. If you use this wrung out on your eyes you WILL loose eyelashes. It doesn't matter how easy your doing the rubbing. This is an immediate NO WAY for me The "Drenched test"...and I mean sopping wet: Man what a difference. The key to this is doing what it tells you to do from the beginning. You have to drench the cloth in warm water at least. I like to have my water a little warmer because it feels nice but as long as it's warm you're good to go. With the cloth sopping wet I was able to get the makeup off easier and quicker and I also had no problem with my eye area. I found that working in circular motions worked best for me. The fabric does still "grab" but nothing like it did when the cloth was wrung out. Both ways did remove ALL my makeup. Used a makeup wipe after using the product and the makeup wipe came away perfectly clean. Was it a bummer that I have to stand over my sink to take my makeup off because the cloth was soaking wet instead of being able to watch my TV while I took my makeup off???...Sure, but that's nothing compared to the money this thing will save me in makeup wipes, cotton rounds, and eye makeup remover! Not to mention the fact that this is machine washable and can be reused over and over again. This thing has cut my "makeup removing" routine down to half the time. Now all I need is the Makeup Eraser and my Purity to wash my face. One of the main things I really like about this product is that you don't have to worry about it leaving a residue on your face since it's just water and the cloth. That is something I will not miss with the makeup wipes and eye makeup removers. One other thing I would like to mention is that once I am done using the cloth I will wash it by hand with dish soap or a small amount of laundry detergent and scrub it that way and then hang it up to dry for the next day and so far that's worked out well for me. I put it in the wash at least once a week for a "deep clean". ... show more
