Took this to Costa Rica with me and easily packed it into whatever I was carrying each day. It is perfectly light weight and I appreciated the vents under the arms to cool off in the sticky weather but it was always light enough to not be a burden. I sized up per some of the other comments so that I could layer under it and it still fit well in the boxier size. I also got this jacket properly filthy and it cleaned off surprisingly well. I even had a mishap with some clam sauce getting all over me from a faulty takeout carton combined with infamous Costa Rican potholes and initially I thought the jacket was destined for a disgusting orange splattered fate. I scrubbed with dish soap and a washcloth with little progress before slathering with stain remover (shoutout to Grandma’s Secret Spot Remover and its lovely little travel size) and the next morning I scrubbed again with complete success. I rinsed it out and hung it in the shower for a few hours and in a place where nothing ever seems completely dry, it was perfectly dry and ready to wear on my next adventure. I’m so glad it’s saved because I would have bought a new one. 10/10 ... show more

This is a jacket to keep you dry in rain conditions. It is not for warmth. I wore mine over heavy sweaters which worked fine. I stayed dry. Product is of good quality. I didn’t give the 5th star because it could have been a bit heavier for warmth

    • Not waterproof and crummy warranty.
I wore this “waterproof” rain coat once for 30 seconds running into a store, and it soaked through inside and out, as well as through my sweater. When I contacted Northface, they told me under their warranty they would issue a credit good only at Northface, and that I had to pay the shipping fee to send it back to them. I think this is a really crummy policy, this is obviously a product defect and they’re not allowing me to get my money back and made me pay shipping to send it back to them.
