I have an older goretex hard shell (bought in 2007) that used various levels of fleece liners. I work outside a lot throughout the seasons and have various weights of fleece for different conditions. After seeing a lot of the puff jackets decided to see if this could replace one of my fleece jackets with something a little lighter, but the same warmth. I also travel a lot and would rather have a lighter suitcase on winter trips. I took this on a recent trip to the North West and used it as my insulation layer. I’m more than impressed with the result. I stayed comfortably warm and actually had more dexterity with this combination. The lighter weight was also noticeable. The only thing I would change is the size. I ordered an XL and should have bought an L as it seems to run a little big. Looks good but I haven’t had it long enough to evaluate the quality. It doesn’t zip in like the early generation combo outer wear/liners, but works just the same with more options to adapt to changing conditions. ... show more
