Love this jacket. The size fit me perfectly, the color was exactly what I expected, it's been washed multiple times and still looks and feels fabulous. It is so comfortable that I take it everywhere. It is not thick, so no feeling of bulky, yet it's so warm and that's saying something because I'm always cold. Windy weather I did not even feel the wind though it. It's absolutely worth getting. Now, the softness is kinda subjective. I would not call it soft like the silkiest blanket you've ever touch, yet I can't come up with a word for what it feels like. It is soft. It's not rough. MY FAVORITE JACKET!!
This jacket will be your favorite. It's warmer than you'd think - I live in OH and it's warm enough to wear over a sweatshirt to run errands on a cold day. It has HUGE inside pockets on the inside, one on each side, and outside pockets with zippers on each side to put your hands in or to put in your phone, money etc. and zip it in and know it won't get lost. I have back problems and don't like to carry a purse. This jacket's inside pockets are big enough for my checkbook, chap stick and a small brush, the outside pockets hold my cell phone and keys so I can go to the store without taking my purse. VERY HANDY!! This is the third one I've purchased, all in different colors to go with anything. It has a drawstring in the bottom so you can tighten up the bottom on windy days to keep warmer. Very soft fleece, very comfortable right from the beginning - no breaking in! My Columbia jackets are my favorite and if these ever wear out, I will buy new ones. I hope they never stop making them because I love them and will always own a few! The only con is that my daughter also has one and the outside pocket zipper broke after only about 6 months, but she could have put too much stuff in it and that could have done it. They aren't metal zippers. But I LOVE mine and highly recommend them. Amazon is the cheapest place I've found them, so don't waste your time shopping around - if you're considering it, buy it on Amazon.com. You won't regret it! ... show more

Warm, cozy, fits me perfectly. Looks cute too. Quality is fine. They aren't made like they used to. Cheaper than they used to be. Lighter fabric, pockets aren't as sturdy. But, I trust Columbia more than any other brands.

My Most Favorite Jacket of All!

I have been a fan of fleece jackets for many years and have bought both North Face and Columbia products. I have found that some fleeces work better for different weather conditions, but I have to say that the Columbia Benton Springs fleece is the most versatile. You can wear this jacket in all seasons and be comfortable (even though in the winter you may have to add a heavier jacket on top). I live in Wisconsin where we can have some fairly extreme weather and this jacket always comes in handy. It's made of soft, thick fleece and it washes up nicely. It has two zippered pockets for any personal belongings and a drawstring cord on the bottom in case you want to tighten the fit. The Columbia emblem is stitched on the chest and looks classy. I am 5'6",150 pounds, have an athletic frame and I wear a small BUT I like my jackets to fit a bit snugly. However, if I were to regularly wear a sweatshirt underneath, I would order a size larger. I have bought this jacket in many colors for both myself and my family. I will continue to purchase this jacket because it's a great investment and a staple to have in my closet. I wanted this for my trip to Wisconsin- something warm, but not to bulky, easy to take off at the airport and easy to stuff into my bag if I get too hot, and something light enough to layer- its the end of March almost Arpil and finding a zip up fleece in any store is IMPOSSIBLE. From the photographs this was exactly what I wanted, right down to the adjustable waist band. I ordered it in a size small, what I would usually order in a sweater or coat. After reading the reviews and hearing how often people posted that it 'ran large' I was worried that I had ordered the wrong size. It came in the mail right on time, had no issues with that at all. I love it. The fleece is not quite as thick as other fleece zip ups that I've owned in the past but it is plenty warm. I'm 5'2 138 lbs, curvy and quite busty (my chest is usually an issue when it comes to sweaters and jackets). A small fit just fine, with more than enough room if I wanted to wear a long sleeve shirt or even something slightly thicker. The color is just as lovely as the photograph if not nicer. I really have no complaints about this sweater at all. It fits well, and looks more expensive than what I actually paid for it. I would consider buying another in a different color!
