OMG is this thing warm!!! you definitely do not need much under it. sat in a chair, not in a blind in Wisconsin deer hunting and never got cold at all. as with most hunting clothing, i always order a size bigger and it fits perfect with layers underneath.

I have been hunting for 45 years. Used this hunting suit during a 10 day bow hunting trip in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan during December, temperatures range between minus 8 to 30 degree and i sit no less than 3 hours at a time, some days from dust to dawn ( 9 hour hunts). I was always warm, garment was quite and i like the design as it was able to use the zippers to regulate my body temperature during the long walks to my tree stand. Pockets are well placed. Because the garment is so warm i did not need to wear lots of layers, i just wore one pair of insulated underwear. Everyone at my camp wants this hunting suit for next year as they had 4-5 layers and became cold after 3 hours. Cost is high for this outfit but worth it. ... show more

Im a Pennsylvania hunter and our Deer season goes into January. I have spent thousands of $$ on hunting clothes trying to find things that keep me warm while in my treestand. I ordered the 2XL and am currently writing this review from my treestand 20 feet in the air. It's 28 degrees with a wind chill of 25. Gusts of wind around 11 MPH. It's cold and windy. This jacket seriously blocks out the wind. I have never had a jacket like this. I am so warm. I have a layer of merino wool underneath and a pair of Sitka bibs I just bought as well. I bought this because I was tired of getting cold while deer hunting. Jacket and bibs are warm, I had to adjust my layers to keep from sweating. Jacket and bibs are extremely quiet while walking, drawing your bow, and twisting and looking inside shooting houses. Highly recommend.

This is a super warm Berber type coat. Wished it had zipper pocket & a few more of them. It only has the one true pocket up on chest & it don’t zip. Oddly shaped if not zipped all the way up. Size is awkward. I’m 5’9 & 40 inch waist. Ordered 2xl & it is difficult to get around my shoulders. Waist was fine. Returned xxl & bought 3xl. A bit large in sleeves but fits my shoulders much better. Hunting at 10 degrees next week traveling on 4 wheeler to 9,000 feet. Will update after that test. ... show more

Just got the fanatic bibs and jacket…thought I’d try it and sit outside in 26 degree weather (perfect Michigan weather by the way). It’s been an hour and it’s feels as though I should be drinking pina-coladas out here. To say that the fanatic set up will keep you warm is an understatement….a more accurate statement would be: “Sitka Fanatic set up, never pay for a heating bill ever again”. I mean….is hot guys, but like pleasantly hot. No one, I mean NO ONE other than Sitka should be allowed to make clothes that are meant to keep you warm. I don’t want anyone complaining about the price either…saying: “I can do this all day” to winter weather is priceless. How is the camo you ask? Great…wife couldn’t see me, dog couldn’t see me…..stealthier than the IRS taxing your paycheck. Buy it! ... show more
