I am so glad that EL decided to do a follow up of The Mister. She has written another great book that I couldn't put down. I have enjoyed her series and I hope we will get more from her. Alessia and Maxim are such great characters and to watch their love story come full circle was so great to read. Their ups and downs throughout the two books have been so well written. I have really enjoyed following their journey through these books, EL James really knows how to write a great story. It would be so great to see these books become movies just like the Fifty Shades Series. Thank You EL for another great book, I hope we will see more of your writing very soon. ... show more

    • A Beautiful Love Story

I’m not the best at writing reviews but here it is. I was so excited as soon as read E.L James was releasing a follow up to the Mister. In my opinion no one writes a love story like Erika. I started listening to The Missus and just fell in Love with Alessia and Maxim even more. Alessia wasn’t that shy scared girl anymore. She became a strong women. Carolina & Maxim (evil)Mother could not intimidate her anymore. Alessia knew Maxim loved her and always stood by her whatever her choices were. And Alessia stood by Maxim as he tried to navigate his new Title and Responsibilities. I was disappointed in Maxim sister Maryanne. I thought she was better than Caroline but, she was as struck up before the Wedding. They made Alessia doubt Maxim true love for her. There was never a doubt that Maxim loved Alessia with his whole heart. I was tired of the doubters who didn’t think their love was real. (What could they possibly have in common) But, the heart wants what the heart wants and Alessia and Maxim’s hearts were made for each other. I have re-listened to the book a couple of times. That’s how much I loved Alessia and Maxim’s love story. I even went back and listened to the Mister again. I just cannot get enough. I just hope for a third book. Fifty Shades Of Grey is a Trilogy, So there has to be a third book. In my mind it would be bad luck not to make the Mister and the Missus a Trilogy. Plus there are still some unanswered questions we need to know. I cannot recommend this Book enough. Definitely more than 5 Stars. ... show more

    • Great ending to a romantic love story, Cinderella style

The Missus by E.L. James $8.99, 461 pgs **** 7/22/23 Maxim & Alessia 4 star read. I loved the continuation of Maxin & Alessia’s story. We were introduced to a lot of the Albanian culture which was interesting to say the least. Watching both main characters grow together, learn more about each other and to find their places in the lives that were given to them in the elite society of the UK whether they wanted it or not. There was quite a bit of drama regarding the heirship of Trevelyn hierarchy as well as with the immediate family. Alessia never failed to her endless tasks and learning of how to become a countess and never looked down on her past but was proud of where she came from. Their love story was epic and Alessia was the glue that held everything together and allowed them both to grow, learn and appreciate where their lives took them. This was a good ending to the 2 book series and I very “muchly” enjoyed their story. This series is a must read for all romance lovers. ... show more

    • A great, great love story!

This is the continuing story of Maxim and Alessia. After rescuing her from being kidnapped and proposed, they are back in her country. She is Albanian, which may cause problems with his family. They are to have an Albanian wedding. Wow, this book is full of revelations about Maxim’s family. Allessia is learning to be more confident, but brings a lot to the table of being a countess. The love flows throughout this story. There are still trials and tribulations, but they learn to conquer them together. It’s all about communication. I loved every bit of book and this series. A great ending to the story. I am not a huge fan of the style of the writing. I like a more clear definition of who is speaking and the bouncing from 1st and 3rd person pov was confusing at times. But it is a good story and wraps up nicely.

This one doesn't have nearly the suspense and intrigue as Mister but it's still a good natured story. The human trafficking aspect is resolved and Alessia's "fiance" finally realizes he needs to back off, he's not going to get the girl. There are twists, turns, and secrets that are revealed concerning the Trevelyan family. Some are jaw dropping. Alessia does big things with her music and that's where the story ends. Everything is all wrapped up and delivered to the reader in a satisfying manner. ... show more
