  • Surprisingly good!
Format: Kindle
I’m not generally a fan of dystopian futures nor dimensional constructs but this book really captured my imagination and Nathan Hystad’s story telling as well as character development just kept my interest alive throughout the three volumes. I would recommend it to anyone interested in great science fiction as well as its characters grounded so well in realistic interactions. ... show more

  • Less thesaurus, more dictionary
Format: Kindle
I like it. The story is engaging and unfolds at a good pace. I care about all the characters. I'm sure I 'll finish. But I can't hold back venting about the editing. Sometimes it's good to go with a $5 word when it's more precisely on point than the 25 cent word. But when you choose a $5 word that isn't even the right word, you only use it because you mistakenly believe it makes you sound smart, well that's just sad. A writer who relies on a thesaurus too much and a dictionary too little, is a writer in trouble. Finished Book 2. The tortured English has gotten worse. Sometimes, I can't even guess at the writer's intent, the word or phrase is so poorly chosen. Gonna read something else, take a break, maybe come back later. ... show more

  • A unique and riveting trilogy different from most sci-fi
Format: Kindle
Very eloquently and creatively written story arc that keeps you turning the pages as you travel throughout the cities and small towns from the East to West coasts of the U.S. Visceral protagonists find themselves suddenly alone as those around them have died overnight. They gather as they travel finding other survivors. Whilst avoiding The Glass and the aggressive, carnivorous aliens that have appeared, they gather. Not all survivors have the same objectives or mentality so the protagonists have to be cautious as well. The dynamics that ensue between the survivors, The Glass and potential antagonistic survivors the protagonists find themselves fighting, doing their best to survive. Really takes you out there and keeps you hooked. Who are they? Why have they appeared but, most importantly, what is The Glass? ... show more

  • Humans pull through again!
Format: Kindle
Very engaging story, full of ups and down and in between. Good characters, good theme and good editing! What more could you ask of science fiction

  • A mixed bag
Format: Kindle
The Glass: The Complete Series is a compilation of three books. I really liked how the series started. It is an interesting take on multi dimensional travel and alien invasion. I was ready to give it five stars reading the first book of the series. From there, however, the quality of the writing went downhill. It began to get more difficult to follow the plot and what was going on. By the time I got to the third book, it read more like something that was written with AI, than by an actual author. I found myself skimming the pages because I really did want to find out how the story ended. It was just very difficult to read it. I don’t know it was written using AI and I’m not accusing the author of anything. But there is a stark difference between the first two thirds of the story and the last third. ... show more

  • What a mystery!
Format: Kindle
Nathan keeps you guessing until the last chapter and he makes it mysterious, but fun. You teally get to know the characters and theyre pretty cool in the face of a dystopian world. It was quite good. Enjoy...
