In the midst of her chaos, her world is flipped upside down again when she falls for Dorian Firestone, a confident and driven coworker. He becomes a bridge bringing her closer to the good in the world. Her relationship with Dorian, along with an undeniable connection to God, force her to face her evil past while grappling with an inconceivable transgression in her present. • Suspenseful and Haunting
This book is one that will capture your heart and mind and won’t let you stop reading until the end. The author crafts a captivating story in the short powerful chapters that have you wanting to rescue Maddie one minute and chastise her the next. Tamara Butts is a masterful storyteller. Her boldness in writing about sexual and emotional abuse is an act of advocacy and love in letting us not forget the horrific horror still lurking today. It isn’t a book everyone can read, but it’s a book you want everyone to read! ... show more

  • READ IT! You won't be disappointed!
I’m an AVID reader, and when I get a good book I CAN’T PUT IT DOWN! I read it right through, from beginning to end. I didn’t expect to do that with this book. I expected it to be a leisurely read over a few days. Well, let me tell you…that didn’t happen. I opened it up, and I put it down when I had to. It was a business day and I had things to get done. When I finished what I had to do, I picked it back up. And it stayed in my hands until I turned the last page. What a story! It was engaging, real, entertaining, thrilling, surprising, and masterfully told. If you like good fiction, you need to read THE SHED. You won’t be disappointed. ... show more

  • Mental illness is real
This book is a must read! Let’s just say that this book hit me with an unexpected bang from the start. It involves sexual, and physical abuse within families, which causes trauma, unhealthy relationships with others, and mental illness if not dealt with through therapy. Reading this book sent me on a roller coaster ride from saddens, to laughter due to redemption, and then to the realization that we all must deal with our own demons otherwise it can cause us everlasting pain that can lead to death. ... show more

  • A captivating but uncomfortable thriller that will push your boundaries
I loved how the author formatted the book; short and engaging chapters that seamlessly moved from one to the next and dated entries instead of chapter numbers or headings. It was a little confusing at times but not enough to take away from the message she was trying to convey. It was interesting how she wrote and developed characters that you hated one minute and then rooted for the next. I read the book in 2 days, eagerly reading it when my toddler would let me or when he was asleep. ... show more
