This book is a must read! Let’s just say that this book hit me with an unexpected bang from the start. It involves sexual, and physical abuse within families, which causes trauma, unhealthy relationships with others, and mental illness if not dealt with through therapy. Reading this book sent me on a roller coaster ride from saddens, to laughter due to redemption, and then to the realization that we all must deal with our own demons otherwise it can cause us everlasting pain that can lead to death. ... show more

I loved how the author formatted the book; short and engaging chapters that seamlessly moved from one to the next and dated entries instead of chapter numbers or headings. It was a little confusing at times but not enough to take away from the message she was trying to convey.
