Description

A new, sexy standalone from number one New York Times best seller, Vi Keeland. It started out like any other Tuesday.I spent 12 hours writing algorithms for one of the largest companies in the world and then came home to work on a pet project of mine—feeding facts about the men I knew into a formula to find my perfect match before my twenties came barreling to a close. But then a man knocked on my door and handed me some papers that turned my life upside down.Apparently, a father I never knew existed had left me something in his will. That something turned out to be part ownership in a professional football team.Next thing I knew, I was learning a sport I knew nothing about by spending time with the team’s quarterback who was out with an injury, a man who my formula would definitely determine was all wrong for me.Christian Knox was too handsome and confident for his own good and could have any woman he wanted. Only lately the only woman he seemed to want was me.But there was no way I was getting involved when I was now his boss, even if he was insanely gorgeous and had the dirtiest mouth I’d ever come across. It would be wrong, wouldn’t it?Probably. But you know what they say about things that are wrong...sometimes they feel so right. Read more

A Winning Game
Format: Kindle
Bella Keating was barely fifteen when her mother died. With no father in the picture she was on her own, bouncing from homelessness to a shelter, to living in a third floor walk-up over a Chinese grocery. However, the tiny rent-controlled apartment belied her success as a data analyst for a multinational company. And on the side Bella was working on her pet project - writing algorithms to define the characteristics of the ideal man for her, from a compatability point of view. And suddenly life took a sharp turn when she was informed that she had been bequeathed a part ownership in a pro football team. The person who'd named her in his will was supposedly the father she not only never met, she hadn't known he even existed. As unexpected as this news was, the revelation that quarterback Christian Knox was interested in her was equally troubling because he was her opposite in all the parameters she had defined as determining her "most likely to be a successful match". In other words, Christian was all wrong for her! But then Bella usually over analyzed and fretted over every detail. For someone with a brilliant mind, she tended to expect the worst and consequently didn't let herself get emotionally involved with men. Until Christian. He's gorgeous, he's funny, he's intelligent and attentive and the best QB in the league. But he's all wrong for her and she's his boss! Personally, I think Bella is nuts, but she's also scared. Then again as a winning QB, Christian knows the truth in the old saying about the best defense being a good offense. So........ "The Game" is another big win for author Vi Keeland. It's romantic and fun-loving, with witty dialogue and characters you'll love. The bonus is a real, honest-to-goodness plot you can believe in, which isn't always true in this genre. But Keeland never lets me down. Five stars. ... show more

Sweet characters
Format: Kindle
This book was well written and had a smart (generally) well adjusted FMC, which I appreciated. The storyline also had more meat to it VS the typical “male athlete with nasty former girlfriend and hounding from the paparazzi.” So, I liked it…but for some reason, I didn’t have a desire to read it in one sitting. ... show more

I always love the feels after reading a Vi Keeland novel!
Format: Kindle
There is something about Vi Keeland’s writing that makes you feel like you already know the characters. The story picked up and I immediately felt connected to Bella and Christian, like they were characters I knew and loved, and was experiencing things right along with them. Bella Keating inherits a football team from her late father, whom she never knew. She is a mathematician, analytical. Running a team full of people and emotions means she has some learning to do. Christian Knox is the injured quarterback who is immediately taken with Bella and offers to help her get her feet under her in this new job. I always love the persistence of a Hero that repetitively gets turned down. Christian slowly ups his flirting and advances to more and more adorable and swoony, until he no longer gets turned down. His connection to Bella is strong. He has no problem being there in all aspects of her world early in their relationship. I liked the mystery of Bella’s father, and the contradiction of him being a great man and being absentee. This storyline was blended very well through the novel. Vi Keeland’s stories always hit me in the emotions. They aren’t big dramatic emotions, but wonderful, beautiful, everyday emotions that are just everything. This was another beautiful novel, and I really enjoyed it! ... show more

Vi Keeland does it again!!
Format: Kindle
Vi Keeland does it again, she continues to release the absolute best stories. This story opens with Bella discovering that she has inherited a professional NFL team from a father she didn’t even know existed. She is a geek thru and thru and knows absolutely nothing about football. Along with the team there are two sisters that want nothing to do with her and do everything to drive her away. Tiffany one of her sisters tricked Bella to think the quarterback of the team was a pizza guy that has been harassing women. Enter “meet cute” a hilarious scene plays out when Bella confronts Christian. A geek and the quarterback what could they have in common. Seems a lot as Christian makes it his mission to pursue Bella, it takes him some time to win her over for a date. This storyline is incredible there is romance, chemistry, and thrown in of course is some surprises and suspense. Did I tell you about the secondary characters?? No well…from Bella’s friend to Christians brothers especially his twin well that just top this story in the best way!! I could not be more pleased in how this story wraps up, the decisions they both make warmed my heart. The epilogue was everything!! ... show more

Loved. Loved. Loved this book! 10 stars!
Format: Kindle
No cliffhanger Standalone Told from both POVs Boss employee relationship of sorts I’m obsessed with this author and everything she writes. I don’t know how she does it but every book gets better than the last. As soon as I started reading this one I was hooked and didn’t want to put it down. Bella is the new owner of a football team. It was left to her in the will of a man she never met but apparently was her father. Christian is the star quarterback of that team and the second they met, sparks flew. The only problem was Bella didn’t know she was his boss. She thought he was a pizza delivery guy. Lol I don’t want to give the twists and turns of this book away but what I will say is Christian is definitely my new favorite book boyfriend. He is hot, caring, funny, dirty and loves hard. What more could a girl ask for? Buckle up though because just when things seem perfect, an unexpected truth is revealed that could change everything. ... show more

This story has so many unexpected moments.
Format: Kindle
Bella Keating starts a new job with a hilarious meet cute. She believes she needs to have a difficult discussion with someone who is not who she thinks he is. Its really very funny in the end but it was her sister playing a prank on her to be cruel which backfires on evil half sibling. If you've read any of my reviews I've done of this authors books you know I am a huge fan. She writes smart, funny and kick a$$ women. I loved Bella. Christian is not what you expect from the get go. He is a star athlete, that was expected. He wasn't full of himself though. He was charming, considerate, honest, very grounded. He is persistent. A common theme in Vi Keeland's books is the witty batter between her characters, Christian and Bella don't disappoint. I really enjoyed this book and will be whole heartedly be recommending it! ... show more

Good Plot With A Lackluster Execution!
Format: Kindle
I love reading Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward books especially when these authors have paired up. Sometimes, however when they are the sole mastermind for the story at hand, I have, on occasion felt cheated for an emotionally charged romance read. Unfortunately, this is one of those reading experiences. I so wanted to be invested in Bella and Christian’s budding relationship but it just never drew me in to really care. Bella inherits a football team from the deceased owner, John Barrett who doesn’t will it to his self absorbed daughters. Her new found role as owner never really takes off. Christian is the star quarterback who falls head over heals for Belle and repeatedly has wild sex with her. Not enough time was invested in developing these two characters, as far as I’m concerned. The story has tender moments involving the grandfather, Marvin Barrett and revealing moments toward the end. The epilogue takes us seven years in the future, but I feel it was a rushed ending. The bottom line is that for me, I expected more from this story because I know Vi is a talented writer and storyteller. Sorry to say, for me, it just didn’t work. ... show more

Touchdown
Format: Kindle
Loved this book. Christian is sweet, funny, and determined. From day one he fell for Bella, even when she thought he was the pizza delivery boy sexually harassing the employees. Bella had to take care of herself from an early age, because of death and her absent father. When the owner of the Bruins passed away and left the team to Bella, and a letter. She not only gained a football team but two ugly mean stepsisters. Christian helps Bella learn more about all employees but telling her everything the is to know about everybody. They grow closer and closer. Then Christian finds out who was responsible for killing Bella's mother when Bella was a teenager. Will the truth destroy their relationship or are they strong enough to survive? I truly enjoyed this book. I loved how he pursued her and was honest in his intentions. ... show more
