Great product.. Does what i need. excellent so far

  • Speed test: Very impressed. Very slim too.
The media could not be loaded. 🎬 Video review and speed test. **Update** Prices do fluctuate on Amazon ('tis the nature of the beast), so any price comparisons said in my video review should be double-checked. 📋 I use this hub to plug in my many, many USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 external harddrives into my Macbook Pro. I edit videos off of them in Final Cut Pro. This hub is fast enough to handle it. Note: You have to plug this in. As with most hubs that have this many ports (7), it requires external power. Other tiny (and slow) hubs may be stand-alone (i.e. you don't have to plug them into a power socket), but again... they probably don't have 7 ports on them. This is designed to sit under your desk and always be on. Pros: 👍 Very, very fast. (see video speed test) 👍 Stupidly simple and easy to setup. No drivers needed. (tested on Macbook Pro) Just plug and play. 👍 Surprisingly slim--about the depth of an iPhone. (but much longer of course. See video.) 👍 USB cable (included) is snug and tight and doesn't jostle around (like other USB 3.0 hubs I've tested). 👍 Nice people at TP-Link; they actually sent me a sample of this product in exchange for a test and demonstration. That says a lot about a company (especially an electronics company, which those type of companies sometimes do NOT want people putting their buggy gadgets through public tests). 👍 Manual switch turns the whole thing on/off. (or you can just leave it on all the time). Cons: 👎 Price can vary wildly on Amazon. At the time of this review, it was a steal, however be sure to check around. Note the cable isn't very long, so if you're looking to hide this thing 9 feet away under your desk, you'll probably need an extra long USB 3.0 cable. My recommendation would be this cable: AmazonBasics USB Cable - 3.0 A Male to Micro B - 9 Feet (2.7 Meters) 5/5 stars - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very impressed with this USB 3.0 hub. 🎬 Hope my hands-on video demonstration helps! ... show more
