Overall I like these trimmers. I've used them to buzz my whole face and head. They power through my thick hair well. No pulling on hairs, no missed hairs, and the leading edge of the blades don't scrape my skin . The trimmers have a hefty all metal body with good weight, and while I don't use them, the guide combs are good quality. Straight and fairly stiff teeth/tines that aren't cheap and bendy, and they are easy enough to snap on and off without them falling off on their own. Other certain name brand guide combs that I have seem to fit fine too (can't mention other brand names here), which is handy if you break or lose a guide comb, or want to get additional guide combs for more lengths. The taper lever is super handy to help fine tune the length of cut. Relative to other clippers I've used, these are fairly quiet. The display showing percent charge left is nice, and the display also has an oil reminder and an alert to recharge. The product description says there's a charging base, but I don't see that there is one. One downside is that the charge cable is a proprietary double barrel connector instead of USB-C like a lot of devices have these days. I don't see anything that says how short these buzz with no guide comb, but I would guess .4-.6mm. I would say definitely not shorter than .4mm and not longer than .6mm. It's neither a pro nor a con, there's advantages and disadvantages to having a lot of guide combs like this vs. 1-2 adjustable combs that slide up and down. On one hand, there's a lot to store and keep track of vs. having 1-2 adjustable guide combs. But on the other hand, you don't have to worry about the guide combs accidentally slipping down and and taking out a big nick while using them. Also, with all the separate guide combs, if you break or lose one, you can fall over to the next one up/down the line instead of being totally out of luck. It's also easier to get replacements for the clip-on individual length guide combs vs the adjustable ones that have a clipper-specific fit. So, depends on what's important to you. ... show more

My husband absolutely loves this trimmer. He has a thick, coarse beard and has struggled in the past with trimmers that pull, snag, or cut unevenly. This one has been a total upgrade. It cuts smoothly and evenly without any pulling or tugging, which was his biggest concern. The blades feel sharp and efficient, and it just glides through his beard without any issues. He really likes the 10 different guide combs. Having that range of sizes makes it easy for him to get exactly the length and style he wants without guessing. It gives a lot more control compared to other sets he’s used. He also mentioned that it feels comfortable in his hand, which matters when you’re using it regularly. The taper lever took a little trial and error at first, but now that he’s figured it out, he actually prefers it over his old trimmer that used taper guide combs. It gives him more precision for detailing. The battery life is another big plus. It holds a charge really well, he can get about a week’s worth of trims without needing to recharge. Overall, it works great, feels well made and durable, and offers a lot of flexibility with the different combs and settings. Definitely a solid choice, especially for thicker beards. ... show more
