    • Very nice at a great price!
Style: Standard
I thought I had ordered the wrong model, but I didn’t. I’m not sure it’s solid wood, but I know the top is for sure. I wanted another jumbo, but didn’t want another Epiphone. It would take me years to save up for a Gibson, so this seemed like a good alternative. Turn to find out, it was a great alternative. When the funds get better, I’ll definitely be a returning customer to GearNuts and Guild. This is my first one of this brand and it sounds as good, if not better than my Taylor and Martin! ... show more

    • Wow! What a sound!
Style: Standard
I was looking for a Jumbo guitar and had settled on an Epiphone EJ200 until I grabbed a F250 off the wall. FOr $50 more it's $500 more guitar in terms of tone and initial factory setup. I found one here from Chicago Music Exchange with additional setup at their shop. It arrived in a few days in a well packed box with airpack and bubble wrap surrounding the inner box. It was in perfect condition with no marks or blemishes. I gave it a quick tune up (shipped a full note down to reduce tension on the neck), and struck the first open Emaj. My wife's head snapped around at the depth of sound compared to my Ovation, Urban, Hummingbird, and Washburn. Only thing I have that comes anywhere near in terms of tone is my 1975 Alveraz 12 string. Plugged in with the tone set in the middle and volume at full it just sounds like itself only louder through my PA. This is now my main guitar to gig with every week. I'm very satisfied. And CME did such a great job with the setup I'll probably look at them first for my next instrument. ... show more

    • A Good Guitar with Cheap Tuners
Style: Standard
The guitar is a good one and I'm glad to have bought it. It arrived quickly and, though the box was a little dinged up, the guitar was in perfect condition. It has a nice, deep sound and the setup was good. Two of the strings were a little corroded, so I changed them. In doing so, I noticed that the tuners were pretty marginal. A couple of the gears were sloppy and the bushings almost fell out. The headstock appears to be drilled for 3/8" (10mm) tuner barrels, which is standard for cast tuners. However, these are 1/4" post open back tuners. The holes in the headstock are way too big for the tuner posts and the bushings are loose. My next step will be replacing the cheap Guild tuners with a nice set of Grover Sta-Tites and some tuner bushings designed to fit 3/8" holes. The plastic bridge pins were also a little bent, so I'll put a new set of Waverly pins in while I'm at it. To be clear, the instrument tunes up well and plays well. I'm planning to upgrade it, not fix some deficiency. ... show more

    • Great guitar
Style: Standard
Amazing instrument. I’ve played Gibson’s, Fenders, Martins, Taylors, and on. For the price point this guitar is smooth and the sound really resonates. I could go on and on. It’s a true beauty as well. Definitely will start purchasing more Guild products!

    • Great guitar, bad shipping experience
Style: Standard
Great guitar, however I’d order from somewhere else like sweet water music. My guitar arrived in a beaten and ripped up box with no foam cushioning or anything. The guitar itself is wonderful especially for the price but amazons lax delivery standards aren’t worth trusting them to ship this too you
