I had a convention router with a repeater. Coverage was just okay at times slow with devices that had low WiFi reception. We got the three pack. Our modem is located in the office at one end of the house with the master bedroom on the opposite side. Connected up the first unit to the modem (makes it the master) and then place the other two units even spaced towards the master bedroom. I now can get 150mp in my master when 50-60 was all I could get. The garage was 15-20 is now 50-60. The entire house and Blink cameras work more reliably with strong signals. Wish I did it sooner. Another plus is they come with two additional ethernet ports on each cube.

Had a set of three and it worked so well, I’ve added another set of three. Have tried many other options and this is my favorite. Range extenders only work as well as the weakest link. A well configured mesh can work even better than the best link in the system. Each node receives from all the other nodes it can reach and adds it to the available bandwidth. So if a node in my kitchen receives a great signal (100%) from the base station and a poor signal (20%) from my bedroom, then if I’m in the kitchen, I get to use up to 120% of the rated bandwidth. This is extremely easy to setup. Do not understand why it is getting some knocks. It works great.

UPDATED REVIEW: Now that these are past their return date, their true colors have emerged. Dropping from 4 out of 5 star to 1 out of 5. My home is two story and 4000 sq/ft. I have a 1 Gig speed package (verified wired speed). I purchased the Tenda Nova MW-12 bundle as an upgrade to a first generation Google WiFi Router Mesh system. PROS: When they work, they work great. CONS: The first issue is even when back-planed (the units are hard wired to each other via Ethernet Cat 6 cable) throughput is slow. I recently upgraded to a GIG internet plan. If I connect my laptop to the modem/router I get gig performance. The MW12 connected directly to the router delivers 400 Mbps wireless speed. The MW12 in my office (50 foot CAT6) drops to 90 Mbps. In addition, the MW12 units that are not back-planed experience random wireless service drop outs. The ROKU in the bedroom, which never had a problem with the slower Google Mesh, loses connectivity to the network every few days. This is even after doubling the number of MW12 mesh units from three to six. Wireless speed also drops of dramatically with distance from an access point. That 400 Mbps near the router drops to 90 Mbps at >15 feet. CONCLUSION: If you need reliable wireless for work from home, uninterrupted streaming or gaming, buy something else.

I have the MW12 for about 2 weeks now. After struggling with my wifi signal around the house for ages, having the MW12 was an instant relief. I now have full signal in every room as well as all around outside my house. The throughput is amazing. I would score it 5 stars if the management interface allowed for more advanced settings. Everything else works exceedingly well. The "parental controls" are really only a time limit you can set on a group of devices. The app appears to do intermittent polling, so you never truly see "real-time" usage as they claim. Definitely meant for plug-and-play kind of use. If you want more network related features, I'd suggest bridging it with another router. A great buy to exponentially expand coverage and throughput.

Great product, good WiFi signal and easy setup. Signal sometimes iffy when moving around but it does pick up and is not that much of an issue. Would of been good if it supported WIFI 6 but for the price it’s worth it.

120 some bucks for 3 boxes beautifully executed! I have paid 3 times that for ugly boxes with antenna sticking out and several plugin extenders that were even uglier with spotty Wi-Fi and half dozen different Wi-Fi names. In comes the Tenda Nova MW-12 and everything changed. Let me tell you, the setup took all of 15 minutes from opening the box and all gadgets at home humming like crazy! I think it took longer to dismantle the old setup! LOL. Anyway I retained the old Wi-Fi name and password as I had too many things connected by Wi Fi and I did not want to reconnect every one of them individually. Some are in the crawl space controlling yard equipment like the garden fountain and landscape lights. I hooked it up to the Spectrum Modem with the Tenda Boxes (Nodes) Downloaded the app on my phone and configured a few things. Restarted the Modem and Tenda Nova Node and Voila! I had 100% signal all over my house and covered the entire 5600 sq ft beautifully. I placed the nodes at three different areas to maximize coverage. So far speed test in every corner of the house blows away everything I had before and its not even close. I don't know how reliable these things are but they appear to be well made and should last long. Very much impressed with Tenda Nova. I understand they are pretty basic when it comes to routers but unless you are a geek or you are some fancy computer guru who expects crazy things, this in my opinion is more than adequate for all the non techie non geek mortals who simply need good coverage and speed in a single Wi-Fi name all around the house. Setup could not be any easier and basic and basic is all you need. MESH Wi-Fi is the way to go for larger house with 2-3 levels as it switches automatically for the best signal. Updated review 10/22/2023 The last few days have been frustrating. The unit starts to disconnect from the internet frequently every few hours and sometimes within one or two hours requiring a physical reset of the Nova router. I have followed all the troubleshooting instructions provided by Tenda and nothing changed. Done hard reset, re install and upgraded the firmware, done it all but I wake up to "No Internet" and come back home in the evening to the same message. Sometimes I will be watching TV (Streaming) and it cuts off making it a very sorry piece of equipment. I am downgrading it to 2 stars because of the reliability problems. No safety features exist on the app and there is no way to configure anything on your computer. A great potential lost due to poor reliability and bad connections.

I like this item. Speed was great, coverage was ok with two nodes. But one of the nodes always goes offline no matter where I locate that. Wi-Fi signal light seems to be solid green all times but still offline. Factory reset several times but still did not help. Finally called Nova tech support, they would not answer my call asked me leave contact details. I called Nova tech support and left my contact details four times they never call me back. With no help, I decided to return it.
